I think Chandler Jones & Nink are a solid pairing, and with Buchanan entering his second year he could be a solid backup. So unless we can get him on a backup's wages, I don't think he'd be a great signing as in my mind, we don't another starter.

Seahawks able to put out consistent pass rush due to fresh bodies rotating. Sure Ninko and Jones are solid, but each play over 1000 snaps at a ridiculous 95-98%.Everybody see they were gassed out by the end of the year.

They create a pass rush also because they have a solid secondary that gives their rushers an extra second to get to the QB and they can send an extra guy.
People do realize the Pats had four more sacks last season than the Seahawks. I know that sacks isn't the be all and end all stat to determine pass rush quality (often it can be very misleading), but I never looked at the Seahawks as a strong pass rush team and I always saw their real strength in their secondary. They are more built out in than in out. Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, and Earl Thomas are among the best players at their position. You can argue that Sherman and Thomas are THE BEST at their position. I think without their secondary, the Seahawk's d-line would not be nearly as good as people think it is.
Yeah, I suppose using him like a rotational guy would be good. But how much do you pay a rotational guy?
Also, how do you multi-quote?

The problem is that their edge rush flamed out at the end of the season and in the playoffs because Nink and Jones played such a high percentage of snaps. They had more sacks than the Seahawks, yes, but the Seahawks pass rush was much more effective down the stretch and in the playoffs in part because they had more bodies to rotate in and out like a well oiled machine. Those bodies, as a result, had less wear and tear and fresher legs. Jones is an excellent starter in this league, Nink is ideally a rotational guy, and Buchanan has a steep learning experience. Bequette has to have nude selfies on Belichick because I have no clue why he's still on the roster. The Pats can draft an Ealy or a Ford early as I mentioned before and sign a guy like Phillips. That gives them four capable pass rushers (the rookie would be a pass rush specialist and come off the field on obvious running downs) plus possibly a fifth if Buchanan learns from his 2013 mistakes. Give them another 3-tech pass rusher and that gives them two capable bodies in the rookie (I like Easley) and Kelly, plus a possible third if Armstead actually pans out to be anything. Now you've got a solid rotation of guys with fresh legs that can get after the quarterback on top of one of, if not THE, best secondaries in the NFL.
Are we underestimating a second year of Buchanon? He was a projected 2nd? Also i assume armstead can see some reps at DE. I agree we need some depth but i doubt Phillips is the make or break to this team.

So you're a teenager on school vacation?
Are you going to ask for my picture to pedo?
6 million for Phillips was a bit much, I would love if Ford is there at #29 if the pats are looking for a DE
6m for 2 years isn't bad for a guy that posted 10+ sacks and 50ish hurries..
