Buffalo Bills alert:

Bills re-sign Scott Chandler | ProFootballTalk

Tight end Scott Chandler became the first Bills tight end to post back-to-back years with more than 500 receiving yards in 2013 and he’ll have a chance to be the first to do it three times in 2014.

The Bills announced that they have re-signed Chandler and he might get a chance to go for four in 2015 as Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that it is a two-year deal. Chandler set career highs last season with 53 catches and 655 yards while scoring two touchdowns.

Chandler’s production was welcome on a Bills offense that was forced to shuffle quarterbacks during the season because of injuries. It also came after an injury of Chandler’s own as he tore his ACL late in the 2012 season, but came back to play in every game last year.

The Bills also re-signed kicker Dan Carpenter this week and they have signed linebacker Keith Rivers, guard Chris Williams and cornerback Corey Graham as free agents.

Captain Munnerlyn is signing a three-year deal with the #Vikings, per source.

Jets were supposed to be visiting with him.

Carolina Panthers starting to bleed:

Report: Vikings strike three-year deal with Captain Munnerlyn | ProFootballTalk

Another top 100 free agent is off the market.

And another player is leaving Carolina.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the Vikings have agreed to a three-year contract with Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn.

Munnerlyn was No. 43 on PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100, and he was the 12th highest-rated non-tagged or unsigned player left on the market, per our rankings.

Munnerlyn (5-8, 195) started all 16 games for the Panthers in 2013, defending 12 passes, hauling in two picks and making 74 tackles. He does not turn 26 until April, and under his new contract, he can again test free agency before he reaches age 30.

This continues a day of personnel changes for the Panthers, who released star wideout Steve Smith earlier in the day and have also lost Ted Ginn to Arizona.

Tuck and now Woodley.

Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 33s

Former Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley agreed to a two-year deal with the Oakland Raiders with a max value of $12 million dollars.

God, how are the Cowboys not going to be awful next season.

I think you mean "God, how is ESPN's First Take not going to be GREAT this season?"

That's a good signing for the Skins.

Really only one starting caliber DT left (and a great one at that) in Henry Melton, unless one counts the old Williams DT from the Vikings. The rest are all JAGs.

BB showing confidence in Siliga perhaps?

Cowboys defense. What defense?

Redskins agree to deal with Jason Hatcher | ProFootballTalk

The Redskins won a division game in March, stealing one of the top defensive players in the NFC East last year.

Agent Jordan Woy has announced on Twitter than the Redskins have signed Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher.

The 31-year-old Hatcher had plenty of interest early (the Seahawks, Raiders and Titans were on the list), which you’d anticipate after his Pro Bowl season.

Hatcher had 11.0 sacks last year playing in the Cowboys 4-3, so it will be interesting to see how defensive coordinator Jim Haslett plans to use him next year.

I think the depth at defensive tackle in the draft also helps as well. It's a much deeper position than say defensive end is. That's why I would prefer to get our pass rusher in free agency where in the draft, it might be tough to find one.(possibly ealy or ford)

LaMarr Woodley headed to Oakland on two-year deal | ProFootballTalk

The Raiders have added yet another accomplished veteran pass rusher.

The club has reached a two-year contract with ex-Steelers outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.

The deal is worth as much as $12 million, Schefter reported.

The 29-year-old Woodley recorded 57 sacks in seven seasons with the Steelers (2007-2013). Pittsburgh released him on Tuesday.

Woodley could project to defensive end in Oakland’s 4-3 scheme. It’s also possible he could play strong-side linebacker on run downs and defensive end on passing downs.

Durability will be the key for the 6-foot-2, 265-pound Woodley, who ranked No. 61 on PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100. He has missed 14 regular season games in the last three seasons.

News of Woodley’s addition comes on the same day the Raiders reached a deal with Giants defensive end Justin Tuck.

Next to Kelly, could be. But they haven't released Wilfork yet, have they?

Isn't this demand a typical VW negotiating tactic? Maybe he wants a better restructure offer.

That's a good signing for the Skins.

It was a good signing, but they just paid nearly 7m/year to a guy on the wrong side of 30 with one major breakout season.

My pick too.

Agree - back in February, I posted Sims as my FA pick if Wilfork couldn't go.

He shouldn't be expensive, and he's relatively young (28) and has shown some flashes. Not much of a pass-rusher, though, is he?

Henry Melton...seems more disruptive.

Bit of a bummer, he would have addressed a real need here. Oh well, Henry Melton's still out there if that's what the Pats are looking for.

Hatcher gone...one less DL now. With Wilfrok going to be cut..this position is pretty important right now IMO. Top priority.

Remember when it was reported that there was significant interest in Raiders running back Darren McFadden, the fourth overall pick in the 2008 draft?

That significant interest definitely did not translate into significant dollars.

The official numbers are in, and McFadden indeed signed for peanuts. He gets a mere $100,000 guaranteed. With a salary of $1.25 million and a roster bonus of $144,000, the deal has a base value of $1.494 million.

RB market is horrible. Ben Tate will get nothing and Chris Johnson is now saying he will take a pay cut to be traded. RBs are so dam expendable in the NFL

Regardless of what McFadden must do to earn the incentives, the Raiders have committed a mere $100,000 to a man who earned $60 million on his rookie deal. He can be cut before the regular season at a total cost (assuming adequate participation in the offseason program) of $244,000.
