To pass some time (25hrs and 40 minutes to go )

Reiss speculates that LB Steve Beauharnais has been ruled out and
may be put on IR opening a 53 man roster slot.
If so a Practice Squad player may be promoted to fill that slot.

Who do you think it would be?

My guess, a surprise WR, Reggie Dunn.
With 4.24 speed, it would be like throwing a monkey wrench into the
Broncos defense game plan.

But there are other possibilities. Here are PS players:

Orton, Greg WR
Devey, Jordan OT
Dunn, Reggie WR
McGuffie, Sam WR
Cave, Braxston C
Reed, Taylor MLB
Forston, Marcus DT
Mattes, RJ OT

If you were to active a PS player who would it be? Any ideas?

If any of them, I'd prefer McGuffie. Throw him 2 screens "Boyce-style" and let him run.

If both Dobson and Thompkins can't go I could see Orton getting the bump.

There were reports that Beauharnais' absence had nothing to do with a roster move. Sounds like he's just sick.

Didn't the injury report say out with illness?

I hope this isn't the 2006 AFCCG when 1/4 of the team fought a stomach virus. My understanding is that Brown, Wilfork and Dillion were all hurling their guts out at halftime.

I would not be surprised if once BB got wind that Beauharnais is the one that got Brady sick he sent him home.

I cant see any reason to activate a player just to make him inactive.

Yeah, when he didn't show at practice Reiss speculated that a roster move had been made, but we later learned he was just ill. He is still on the roster so there is no open slot.

Is Reggie Dunn the player that Manx opened a thread about early in the season as someone we should sign?

I don't think they would IR him unless it was a legit injury; if Hightower, Collins or Fletcher were to be injured tomorrow and we won Beauharnais would be our 3rd LB unless we went with White a career STer.

How many reps has Beauharnais played on the defense? How many has White played?

For decades, we have had career Ster's at LB end up playing some reps on defense.

White was the #4 last week. He will be the #4 this week. I don't see how the status of a player that was inactive last week matters.

MG I think you're a great poster overall my one reservation is sometimes I think you respond to the content of a post without considering the context of it. My post was pertaining to the suggestion that Beauharnais would sent IR just to open up a roster spot, to which I said I didn't think so because if Hightower, Collins or Fletcher were injured tomorrow and unable to play if we made the Super Bowl we'd be going into that game with 2 LBs and White who is a STer.

I doubt it, but with BB you really can't know for sure.

You seem to take all my responses as personal ones. I read your posts as I do anyone else's.
I consider the thread and decide whether I think that I can add anything, and then proceed.

I was simply pointing out that Beauharnais is essentially irrelevant, as he has been all year. White is our #4 and has been since Mayo went down.

I also think it likely that Dobson (or Thompkins) will play. Otherwise, we likely would have added someone as an emergency backup.

As an aside, if one of the 3 LB's were injured, I think that we WOULD add someone. BTW, in that case, I would expect Ninkovich to be playing linebacker.
