How do we know Dennard won't play?

FOXBORO, Mass. — The Patriots will be without two of their starting defensive backs against the Panthers.

Alfonzo Dennard and Steve Gregory have been ruled out against Carolina. Dennard has been dealing with a knee injury while Gregory has a broken thumb.

Chiefs haven't allowed more than 17 points all season. With about half the second quarter still to go, Denver's already at 17. If the Chiefs don't start getting pressure on the Fivehead, this is going to get ugly.

That is for the Panthers' game, not the Broncos. He has not been ruled out for next Sunday. The Pats may be holding Dennard out specifically as a precaution for next week.

Any defense should look good playing against the likes of Terrelle Pryor, Jeff Tuel, Jason Campbell, and Case Keenum.

Chiefs D has been overrated to a degree. They look relatively ordinary against an experience elite QB. Not rocket science.

Are we watching the same game? The chiefs defense is playing afraid because the refs are not giving a damn.

I think the chiefs are not going show their hand this game. They may be saving their pressure for arrowhead.
