beats the garbage you spew

words have meaning...

do you know what letting someone play to their average means?

b/c what you said simply isn't true. I mean if you post something clearly is inaccurate someone is likely to reply to it.

this post make my point even better

I'm gonna have 2 big bets on the Pats with us being the underdog.

If I take us in a 10pt teaser, there's no way I can see us losing by 11-12 points

the inability for you to address simple things....like do you know what it means when you state a "defense just lets an opponent play to their average", sums it up.

it is factually incorrect based of what you posted. Now maybe you have some other meaning the rest of the free world doesn't know....but since you can't share it I will chalk it up to you just talking

No biggie. I'm done here. Thanks for time.

Remember, it is just a game. You don't sound like you are prepared for what is about to go down ( a close tough game)

my apologies if you can't grasp the notion, but that's not my fault

nothing you have said, no points you have tried to make have provided any merit as to why the panthers should be expected to prevail

another week, another team on a 5 game roll whose wheels fly off ... I've seen it enough times.

the pats have been 'dead' for years

I wouldn't of called it a loss looking at the tale of the tape....b/c the Saints were going on the road. You basically have to discuss them completely separate than the one that plays in NO. That isn't the case for all teams but it is for them. That was the same team that had just went to Tampa Bay prior and get very lucky. I wouldn't call it a loss b/c I watch the Saints all the time (as I do all NFCS teams)

You should of won that game (with injuries).....and you did.

Who they played the week before is irrelevant as well. What is relevant is the game itself. In the game, the Pats defeated a previously undefeated opponent missing a ton of their best pieces and they won on a last second touchdown, to boot. Again you're not doing much in the way of countering my argument. And no, it's a game that, by all rights, the Pats shouldn't have won.

that's because he is convinced that this is the panthers time.....because no other team has ever beat up on 1 and 2 win teams the way the panthers have

Remember the game against the Vikings in 2006? This reminds me a lot of that.

honestly, I don't recall....

I think it's going to be one of these games where they'll average less than 4 ypc rushing, but they'll still run the ball over 30 times and brady will go 20-28 for 320 yards and 4 TD's

the panthers have played crappy teams and struggled against mediocre ones.

they have lots of good young defenders, but they're aggressive and the pats will make it easy for them to overpursue and to bite on misdirection. they haven't faced a balanced offense yet this season. and brady's success throwing early will lead to some open runs

My daughter and I are going, I promised her before the schedule came out last spring. I figure it the last time I see Brady and the only time she will see Brady play in a regular season game here. I've seen every game the Pats have played here.

I'm really hoping for a Pats win..... won't be surprised if they don't...dissapointed but not surprised

Were you at the game at the end of 2001? It was a dark, drizzly day and I was there with one of my sons on the way to drop him off at college. That game was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had at a sporting event. We (Pats fans) took that place over for the game. I remember all of us chanting the Jets chant hoping they would beat the Raiders that day and give us a home playoff game at the old stadium. The rest is history.

The 2006 game was a MNF game and the mediots looked at the Vikings #1 rush defense/ 32nd pass defense and decided the Patriots had zero hope of moving the ball.

Similar to the zero hope the Patriots were to have in 2010 against the Steelers.

The Patriots ran 6 times the entire game, spread the Vikings out and won 31-7....and the mediots had zero idea what they just saw.

These are the same idiots who think that a Cincy game played without Gronk/Ridley/Vereen is more relevant than the recent Pittsburgh game.

Ah, yes, good memory Kontra. That's one of those Pats wins over an upstart opponent on a roll I talked about earlier. 31-7 MNF win; Vikings had this impenetrable defense.

Wikipedia's summary:

The Vikes fell to 4-3 with a loss at home on Monday Night Football to the New England Patriots.
The Pats, who came out passing instead of bothering to even try challenging the Vikings rush defense, got out to an early lead on the opening drive as QB Tom Brady hit WR Reche Caldwell for a 6-yard touchdown pass. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski connected on a 23-yard field goal early in the second quarter. Brady threw his second of what would turn out to be four touchdown passes, this time to TE Benjamin Watson just before halftime to give the Pats a 17-0 lead. The Vikes finally got on the board as RB Mewelde Moore returned a punt 71 yards for a touchdown early in the third quarter. That would be all the Vikes could muster as Brady threw his final two touchdowns to WR's Troy Brown and Chad Jackson respectively to close out the scoring.

And from NFL.com:

Still firing well into the fourth quarter, Brady didn't let up -- going 29-of-43 to beat a defense that had been pretty decent against the pass, too.

New England (6-1) more than doubled Minnesota's average of allowing 15.8 points per game, setting the tone for an easy victory with an opening drive on which Brady completed all six of his throws for 94 yards.

"Whatever holes we had in the coverage, he found it," Vikings safety Darren Sharper said.

majority of teams haven't been able to move the ball on the ground.....and majority have trailed most of the game.

our @ SF win is more impressive than anything on NE's schedule. That doesn't mean you don't have more nice wins than us....but we haven't only beat up on nobodies.

I think both of our teams have traveled very similar paths.

We beat NO and you beat SF

We both beat TB and Atlanta.

We also beat NYJ, Miami, Buffalo and Pitt. You beat NYG, Minny and SL.

This game will give both teams a good test.

And what are you going to offset that with? In other words, what other play are you going to make that allows you to get the extra 10 pts. Actually, you need to use 2 other plays, since 10 point teasers normally involve at least 3 teams.

Remember the game against the Vikings in 2006? This reminds me a lot of that.

I think that there are definitely some similarities, Kontra.

One major difference that I do see is that we were able to take advantage of MIN's 32nd ranked pass defense. In this case, CAR has a much more balanced defense. They currently hold the #2 overall defense, the #2 run defense, and the #4 pass defense.

One would think that they'll have some success in the passing game though if they win, especially vs that very tough run D. In that aspect, you are probably quite correct.

Yeah, I think in this game the Pats are going to look to establish the pass first and let that set up the run. Come out, spread them out, get those LB's in space, work the underneath routes and use their LB's having to get out in space to protect vs. the short passing game to establish the run. That's probably going to be the difference here whereas that game vs. Minnesota in 2006, the Pats couldn't have possibly cared less about establishing the run.

Should be a really good game. People confident the Pats will win, I like your attitude, but I don't share it. Think this is a toss-up, could go any direction (blow out by either team, or close slug-fest, just too hard to call). I'm in Durham NC so am forced to see the Panthers every week, and it does seem people here have weird incorrect attitudes (e.g., that Cam Newton cannot throw long--that is ridiculous--just because it isn't a big part of their game plan doesn't mean he cannot: he could absolutely torch our secondary on the long throw, and I expect them to try on Monday; people also don't seem to appreciate that their defense is the type that can really knock around Brady and give our offense major difficulties (think: Giants)).

I am hoping for a Pats blowout, but realize that is unlikely.

This does *not* have the trappings of a trap game, BB is going to have us ready, and I cannot imagine him underestimating the Panthers....most likely outcome is a close game (second most likely is Panthers killing us with their run game and keeping our O off the field).

edit: Hey just noticed I'm in the starting lineup!! Huzzaahh! Life has meaning
