Underdogs against Carolina - love it!

the panthers are 0-1 against winning teams at home......1-2 overall

not convincing at all unless you're a homer

NE is 0-2 on the road against teams with winning records.
NE 2-2 on the road this year
Carolina is 3-1 at home losing a heartbreaker to the Hawks.

You are doing a great job convincing me

Dropping 40 on us would be quite the feat.

This game might be the healthiest we have been on Offense in a while. We also have Two weeks to prepare I think we have won most of our gamees coming off a bye...I could be wrong though. A healthy Patriot Offense spells trouble for any Defense.

past is the past....means nothing. for example, do you care the last time that you played a road game coming off a bye you got stomped? Of course not.

a healthy offense certainly is a bigger problem than a depleted offense for us.....the real question is concerning the Patriots....is how good is your healthy offense this year in reality. I don't think anyone really knows....b/c even when healthy it doesn't appear to be on paper close to what you have been working with in recent years.

DB play isn't in a vacuum. Goes hand it hand with DL play.....and those guys haven't made a defense better than ours look bad.

I think your long history of having badass teams makes you believe this fairly pedestrian team you now have is still a juggernaut.

Don't get me wrong you got TFB...do no one is going to act like you can't beat any team in the NFL on a given Sunday. But you gotta play collectively much better than in years past to do that.

and who is the best offense the panthers have stopped?

the pats are 7-2, and for the first time this year, they have their complete offense in place. EJ Manuel threw for almost 300 on the panthers. russel wilson threw for 300. Brady's better than either of them.

There are two common threads in those games:

1. Josh Norman. Young, talented CB. We played him a lot early in the season. But he was a knucklehead and we couldn't trust him. He was good to gamble and lose several times per game. Since benching him, our secondary has improved vastly.

2. Both of these teams were playing from behind for most of their respective games.

Last game we had Three WR's with well over 100yds receiving and also a RB with over 100yds. Brady's best game this year if that's an indication going forward Carolina should be :scared:.

I would love it if I thought it had no basis. Carolina has a stout defense, the type that gives the Pats fits. Our defense needs to really step it up for us to win it, is my prediction.

I am going to buy a ticket to the game to add my voice in person. Unfortunately, nobody will go with me that I know (I'm in Durham NC) so I will be that weird dude sitting by myself in a Pats sweatshirt (not a jersey, as I still have only got a Welker jersey).

Anyone else here going?

Awesome! Way to show your support for the Pats!

Carolina will be a tough out. And we are playing at their home so it's no wonder the Pats are underdogs. I'm not going to count our team out but it doesn't look a pretty tough win if we can pull it out!

Panther fans....try to prepare your children for the loss so they don't put their heads down and boo hoo all day Tuesday.

Just tell em "sweetie, that was TFB and his gang who beat us"....we should be used it."

we can argue those type stats in circles all day....

NE hasn't been an offensive juggernaut this year.....you do know that right? This isn't identical to the KC/Den showdown about to go down....

Seattle statistically is the best O we have played at home (and they are better in yards and points than NE). They scored 12. They, unlike you, have a much better defense.

is that what you tell all the road teams with winning records you have faced this year?

Yeah, his best game of the year was against a slow, old and not very good Steeler defense. I don't think that is the best means to judge things.

we aren't the Steelers lame D.

again, we significantly more familiar with what the Saints are and aren't.

It's irrelevant to the topic. We're significantly more familiar with what the Jets are and aren't. If they were undefeated and you beat them at home minus Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell, your best RB, and with two rookies playing on the outside coupled with losing your top CB in the game, I would call that impressive too.

Beating NO at Foxboro isn't more impressive than SF at SF. Just isn't.

I'm going to need more reasons for this because "just isn't" doesn't really cut it.

You don't hear me whinning about how we beat SF despite being down to playing DTs on our OL do you? Injuries are something you deal with.

I thought I made it obvious that the Pats did deal with them, while beating an undefeated team in the process.

Sure, I don't want your children to cry. None of the kids in New England cry if the Patriots lose because we've had so many championships with our 4 sports teams, we don't care.

Beside, our kids are tough because TFB fathered all of them over the past 10 years or so....he's been busy!

Yeah, we're quaking in our boots at the prospect of facing your stud WRs 1-on-1.

Amendola. Thompkins. Dobson. These names echo in my nightmares every night.

lmao

Thompkins and Dobson are rookies....they're just getting warmed up. Time will tell....

I just hope your DB's are laughing like you!

you are looking at in from only NE fan eyes.....SF at SF is a more impressive win than NO at your house for any NFL team right now.

you are putting the NE spin on it of well but WE didn't have X, Y, and Z. I ain't playing like that b/c this is the NFL. Pretty simple. We have like 4 Gs on IR already and went into SF knowing we had to play a converted DT on our OL. There were points in that game when almost 40% of our defense consisted of rookies playing. That is why you can't look at all your injuries....b/c you are just implying that logic to you. I mean that was trench battle game and we our down to DTs playing OL for us. All teams deal with injuries....NE is unique.

false. I think it was a good strong win. They have strengths and flaws. We could bring out there one huge flaw. That Kapernick sucks if teams aren't overplaying the run

part of your problem is you don't realize that the Saints on the road and on grass.....are just a decent team. You are trying to imply you get the same credit for the beating the team that plays in the Dome.

Do you watch football?

Gillette has field turf.....just like the dome. Dispense with the "grass" stuff.

It was a perfect day...so much for outdoors.

SF was a good strong win between two evenly matched teams. The problem is that SF "ain't all that". My guess is you are really, really overrating how good the NFC is.

I am not....b/c again, the Saints on the road are not this elite team you want to paint them. You are the one hyping up the Aints win.

if you think the Saints at Foxboro and the Saints in the Dome.....are close to the same task....then you need to get to know the Saints better.

anyway, thanks for letting me roam around and chat this week. I like to get a feel for what the opposing fanbase thinks.

If we lose, I'll pop by and eat a little crow.

Never knew 7-2 earned with 3 of 4 top offensive weapons missing was so "pedestrian".

Under that paradigm what exactly has occurred that would make your fan base determine their team is a "juggernaut"?

Here is your problem:

The Patriots are 7-2 and it was earned with most of the year playing with 3 of the top 4 offensive weapons missing.

The last three quarters of football with DA/RG/SR on the field have produced:

24/24/31 points per half...or prorated 48/48/62 points per game

Yet somehow you think a game over a month ago played without these guys is more applicable...why?

Now Vereen is added back in...

Where your analysis seems to be missing is the fundamental appraisal of the tempo and formation implications in this offense at or approaching full strength. Return of players produces a multiplication by addition effect because the tempo and formations will be much different.

However, if Amendola, Gronk, Vereen, and Ridley don't play.....it appears we are in agreement.

Somehow, the Panther fan ****-talking task force is even worse than the Jets/Steelers/any other rival this year. Nice job, guys. I think the Panthers will win but the amount of confidence the fans have is absurd.
