Underdogs against Carolina - love it!

the panthers have had the luxury of being able to be aggressive to the point of overpursuit.

Gronk will either be monster, or the slot and the RB will be wide open

Gronk will be the monster to start the game, at the very least. He'll work underneath and down the seam if the Panthers employ a lot of Cover-2. If they double him, Amendola will begin going off. If they flood the middle of the field, that could be a problem. Dobson would then have to show the ability to take the top off the defense.

the QB's the panthers have faced:

Russel Wilson - 300 yards and a loss
EJ Manuel - 287 yards and a loss
Eli Manning - 90 yard and a win
Carson Palmer - 160 yards and a loss
Matt Cassel - 215 yards and a win
Sam Bradford - 254 yards and win
Mike Glennon - 249 yards and a win
Matt Ryan - 211 yards and a win
Colin Kaepernick - 46 yards and a win

color me skeptical, but the majority of the teams have been able to move the ball through the air.

I like Brady's prospects in this one...the Panthers pass rush is spotty, and the Pats have not resorted to much uptempo. That will change as the Panthers will be caught in a defensive personnel grouping that will give up yards in huge chunks, and the pats will give the Saints the scheme that will kill the Panthers

This years Chicago Bears......beat up on a bunch of nothings, and then watch it unravel when they lose to a decent team at home

majority of teams haven't been able to move the ball on the ground.....and majority have trailed most of the game.

our @ SF win is more impressive than anything on NE's schedule. That doesn't mean you don't have more nice wins than us....but we haven't only beat up on nobodies.

I disagree. :singing:

Gronk will likely get some catches, but if we're in a formation that puts a linebacker on the TE, I'll take Kuechly (arguably best coverage linebacker in NFL) and Davis (Converted safety, long frame, arguably second best coverage linebacker in NFL) over anyone.

Check out this crazy somersaulting INT Davis made vs Atlanta:

Thomas Davis Interception

I guess that leaves the RB's out of the backfield all alone......good move

as soon as Davis and/or Kuechly turn their backs to Brady, then the RB's and the slot are going to tear the Panthers a new one. the funny thing is that someone would believe that gronk can be covered 1 on 1

The San Fran win was impressive, but I'm not sure if it's more impressive than the New Orleans win only because Drew Brees >>>>>>>>>> Kaepernick and the defense, for the most part, kept him under control.

not its not. Kaepernick is a suck-@ss QB. Look what the colts did to them @SF

the panthers simply aren't that good

Hubris

ask atlanta how open their running backs were once we shut down gonzalez in the second half of that game

hint: they weren't

you played NO at Foxboro....

we played SF at SF.

if you would of beaten NO in the dome then I would give it to NE. As a fan of someone who sees NO twice a year.....they are two different animals in the dome and away on grass.

LOL......atlanta no roddy white, no julio jones......you do realize that the falcons suck, don't you?

the panthers defense achieved the same as the cardinals and the buccaneers

If Vereen is back, he and Amendola will kill the Panthers defense for that one. At that point, you'll have to employ the "old faithful" defense (as I call it) that teams have been using against the Pats for the last few years, which is to bunch up their coverage in the middle of the field to take away the short and intermediate routes. If Dobson continues to improve, he should be able to beat man coverage over the top. There's a reason why it hasn't been as easy as "just double Gronk" over the last couple of years. He was such a big part of what the offense was missing through the first quarter of the season. Now that he's back, you're starting to see why.

so did the colts......SF is also a bunch of frauds. not a good example

New Orleans at the time was undefeated, brought one of the better offenses in the NFL with them, and brought an improved defense with them. We were without our top option in the passing game, the second best option there got knocked out halfway through with a concussion, without our pass catching third down RB, and with a couple of rookies still trying to learn the hardest offensive system in the NFL. So yeah, the New Orleans win was more impressive if you really want to break it down. I'll take all those obstacles at home over a win on the road vs. Colin Kaepernick.

Let me put it this way. I am far more concerned with the pats going 5-wide and running quick WR screens all day than I am about Gronk or Vereen.

especially if you consider: no gronk, no vereen, gimpy amendola.

another point to make is regarding the pats rushing defense......sopoaga was fairly effective after only being here for 4 days. they have their stopper in the middle, especially after the bye week

Ron Rivera is worried about Gronk. He is Jimmy Graham on HGH/roids for crying out loud. Gronk would be a huge concern with as bad QB throwing to him....and he has TFB.

Saints out of the dome are still the Saints out of the dome. Call it a push then...doesn't really matter.

you can call it a push........I'm still not buying that the panthers are all that

again, we significantly more familiar with what the Saints are and aren't.

they are two different teams. going into your game....they had 2 road wins by a combined 10 points (which included a last minute win over Greg Schiano's Craptacular Bucs).

Beating NO at Foxboro isn't more impressive than SF at SF. Just isn't.

You don't hear me whinning about how we beat SF despite being down to playing DTs on our OL do you? Injuries are something you deal with.

You do realize the Patriots beat Atlanta in the GA Dome.....without their top three offensive weapons.......and when Atlanta still had their good players?

I'm not buying TFB isn't hurt or beginning a decline...

Gronk or no Gronk or playing with a homeless man you are opting to play at WR.....TFB hasn't been TFB this year.

that's why you're not a coach
