The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

BTW, we really caught a break with the Dashon Goldson suspension...wait

he played today?

he DID play...just can't recall any outstanding hits...

When did we 'trade' welker ? Or we say it just to make it sound worse ?

I think it's the kind of unintentional but revealing revision that people do in their minds to be able to blame someone for bad things that happen. Other examples are how the Patriots "gave up" Adam Vinatieri and "passed on J.J. Watt in the draft."

Re: Re: The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

BTW...I guess it WAS as bad as it looked in the first half when those play calls inside the ten led to that stupid INT....I swear not ONE fan in our section thought any ONE of those play calls made any sense.

The big mistake of that play was throwing the ball to Sudfeld. He should be cut and signed to the practice squad, he does not belong on an NFL roster at this point in his career.

It really is quite remarkable, your want, no actual need to label those who share a divergent opinion to yours as insane homers Deus. Be better than that. That smug nature isn't becoming and takes away from the good points you do make.

Unless you're seriously trying to pretend that Rob and Tune aren't insane homers, your post makes no sense in the context of this thread. If you are trying to pretend they're not homers, you're trolling the hell out of this thread.

It was an error while typing, nothing more, and trading him would have brought something back, so I don't think I'd consider that worse.

Re: Re: The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

I am just telling you how are coming off.

And BTW, the Pats are still 3-0. So the loss of Welker hasn't really hurt the Pats as much as you seem to hope for unless the Pats get to a tiebreaker situation where points scored or points differential mean anything. And in the long run, it MIGHT make the Pats a better team because Brady may not over rely on one or two receiver. Without a safety blanket for Brady, it is forcing him to throw to these young receivers. And it is might mean this team is stronger in January when it counts.

The loss of Welker has been a non factor in my opinion, Edelman caught all 7 of his targets in the slot today, the biggest issue has been the 3 catches all season out of the tight end position all season.

This everyone ganging up on me so I will throw around insults thing you are doing isn't going to win you any support.

Trading Welker away isn't hurting this offense. He was a great regular season receiver but when you need him to make a big catch in the playoffs he dropped it. I'll take Amendola any day over him.

My gripe is that we got too little in the trade

I agree the TE position has been the biggest issue on offense.

Re: Re: The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

So, I say the Patriots got a solid win, but note that I'm not as impressed as some are because the Bucs came in reeling (they did) and they were moving the ball until suffered injury at the WR position (they were).

Somehow, the insane homers have managed to read that as me bashing the receivers and wanting the Patriots to go 8-8.

Gotta love Patsfans.com...

They came in reeling offensively, they're loaded on defense and have played well on that side of the ball all season. Given that having a player like Dobson go out there in his second game as a pro and have success against Revis, Barron and the rest of that secondary is a positive.

.....uhh, no.

Re: Re: The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

I agree the TE position has been the biggest issue on offense.

Gronkowski can single handedly take that position from worst to first.

Thompkins really didn't play that well today, he caught 2 touchdowns which disguises that fact but he wasn't that impressive overall. In Thompkins defense I think it has more to do with how they're attempting to use him, he is not a X receiver he is a Y receiver he would fit better in intermediate routes.

The play calling has been suspect all season in my opinion, as well as the personnel choices on offense.

The Bucs have a reallllllly good secondary...in fact, they have a really good D all around.

Catching two TDs against them...3 for 41 with two TDs on 7 targets against that team? I'll take it.

Great win - I have just one complaint today: Vollmer got hurt. Anyone hear anything beyond the boot?

It was an error while typing, nothing more,

A typo, I understand. And when I jokingly chided you about it -- quoting just the freudian-slip phrase -- and you still couldn't see what was wrong with it...that was on account of some lint on your screen.

Don't worry, buddy, I know you weren't wrong.

Re: Re: The OFFICIAL Patriots vs. Bucs Post-Game Thread

.....uhh, no.

You disagree? Mr. Sudfeld has been targeted 3 times this season on those targets he has 0 receptions and 2 of the 3 targets have been intercepted. So I'm having a hard time understanding the ugh, no.

Yes he did mess up. Not a great game but a good + game.
No QB finds every open receiver or completes all his passes.
2/3rds completion % while missing almost every skill player from 2012 and his starting RT and 2 TDs is playing well with chaos.
Kaepernick and RG III looked bad playing with chaos.
Rogers wasn't sharp.
Rthlsbrgr is not tearing up the league.

+1.

Further, that was an A1 defense he was facing today armed with rookie WR's and no real TE.

A secondary with Barron, Goldson and Revis ain't exactly chopped liver, folks.

Gronkowski can single handedly take that position from worst to first.

Iam a little interested to see how gronk fairs without another TE on the system to take away converage.

I will take it and I'm happy about it but I still think he is being miss used and is over hyped, Dobson is the cream of the rookie class at receiver and those who are expecting Thompkins to become the next Boldin are going to be disappointed, he was an excellent UDFA signing but not a elite receiver in the making, in my opinion anyway.

We've seen it. It makes no difference.
