so...the usual "crowd is silent!" complaints, eh?

my voice is G-O-N-E...must be from staying mute all game ,right?

look, you so called Pats fans want to biatch and moan and complain every friggin' week...why don't YOU get your fat azz off the recliner ,smash your piggy bank and buy a friggin' ticket...and then actually run your mouth at a GAME instead of on a message board...

worst 3-0 team in NFL history, I gather...guess the rookies can't play either...I have no idea how Thompkins made that grab at the seven in the middle of the field and negotiated his way to the end zone unscathed...it LOOKED like he flashed some elusiveness and shifty moves in space...but he was probably just lucky, right..otherwise the silent crowd would have made noise if it was as exciting as it LOOKED from close-up...

think I'm gonna get a voice box implant...so I can keep even quieter next game...:confused3:

Great game. The rookies are getting there and the defense looked very solid. They could all be a real force ten weeks from now.

I was at the game. Great win - nice balance on both sides of the ball, albeit after a slow start on the offense. D was great again! Rookies got going a bit, particularly Thompkins. My only complaint was the play calling in the first quarter. Too much 5 wide. On the first drive we get to 3rd & 2 and you throw it? WFT Josh. Other than that, no complaints except Brady had a few bouncers. Solid win!! Onto Atlanta!

great post...I have zero to add...except why were YOU so quiet? Didn't you hear me calling out "Deb!! Deb!!" over the Welcome To The Jungle sountrack?

Rthlsbrgr not dealing well with "chaos"

About quarterbacks missing the "wide open man".

Instead of watching the game from high up from a bird's eye (camera angle) view -look for the wide open man while standing down on the field.

Now try looking for the wide open man while wearing an NFL helmet.

Now try looking for the wide open man while inside your tight circle of gigantic OL.

Now try looking for the wide open man from behind the line of charging gigantic DL-men waving their tennis-racket arms and jumping up and down trying to tip any ball you attempt to throw.

Now try looking for the wide open man while dodging these huge guys trying to do you actual bodily harm.

Found an open receiver? Good. But wait, maybe he's not as open as you would think because if you throw it now either the OL in your face or the LB in the middle is going to be able to tip it easy.

Brady was once overheard commenting to Welker: It's like throwing in a forest..

I always thought that this was a very informative description of what its like to make throws as a quarterback. Imagine trying to throw a football in a forest. Now imagine that the trees are moving around at NFL speeds.

All that said, of course Brady is human and of course he makes mistakes.. but I don't think that what we and the guys see in the booth as "wide open" is necessarily as wide open as we would think.

BTW...I guess it WAS as bad as it looked in the first half when those play calls inside the ten led to that stupid INT....I swear not ONE fan in our section thought any ONE of those play calls made any sense.

I wasn't as thrilled with the level of play as some, and I think they'll get lit up by the Falcons next week if that's the level the Patriots play at, but I thought it was a solid win against a team that came in reeling and suffered some major losses in the course of the game.

Was that you? I thought I heard something, but then I thought, this must be a joke(r)...

LMAO @ this begrudging praise. You're so invested in being right about damning their roster moves that, at this point, it hurts when one of the rooks makes a catch, doesn't it?

C'mon Deus, they held them to 3 points....3 points! Last week they held the Jets to 10 and they scored 27 today. Can't you smile a little?

I'll go out on a limb and say they don't get lit up in Atlanta, or if they do, our O is enough on track to win a shoot out.

Really good win, the defense stepped up, the rookies came through, and McDaniels did a great job gameplanning and getting the most out of their offense against a very good defense. Plenty of game balls to go around and the coaches had a great day.

There's nothing begrudging at all, and your comment about the roster moves is ignorant, to put it kindly. As I said, it was a solid win. I wasn't as impressed as some others were, because the Bucs were moving the ball well until Williams, and then Jackson, got hurt, and because Revis was clearly not at 100%, but it was a solid win.

I've seen enough to go out a limb and predict that the Pats WON'T get lit up in Atlanta. I see the defense doing enough to give our offense a chance to win, and hold the lead when it counts. A road game is always tougher to win though, so victory is not in the bag. But I have a lot more faith in our D to put in a solid outing, especially after the way they handled Tampa Bay.

We'll definitely give up more than 3 points, but I don't see us giving up more than 20 as long as our D stays composed.

Sorry, while I realize you have put me on ignore (after being as absolutely insulting to me as you were capable of) but...

... every one of us here knows that you would much rather have the Patriot's lose than you be proven wrong.

You might be a Patriot fan (inspite of the evidence of you constantly going out of your way to be needlessly insulting and condescending to all other Patriot fans) but you are a Deus Irae fan first. For you, being right > than your love for the Patriots

1st up thoughts.

Very happy with how Dobson is progressing, it still looks like he is not where Brady needs him sometimes but he has definitely been getting open short, medium and deep which is what we need.

Brady didn't have one of his best games but played efficiently and well enough to win. I think it's encouraging that Brady can have one of those efficient but not his best games but the O can still put up points and the D can keep us in it.

Defense: McCourty at FS full time really looks to have solidified the secondary. There just doesn't seem to be as many missed assignments as previous years. Dennard and Talib gave up plays but they also had their fair share of wins out there as well. We had one pick but McCourty almost had another in the End Zone.

Pass rush was solid not dominant like all of us hope for but hardly something to be complaining about.

We were better than we were last week and at this point and i think thats all we can ask. Tough game next week at the Falcons but it will give us as fans a good barometer about how this D is placed and hopefully we will see the WR's continue to progress.

No offense Deus, but you are quickly coming off as a guy almost rooting for this team to fail so you can be right. You really come off as a guy who would be happier if the Pats go 8-8 this year so you can be right about the Pats tearing apart the WR corp than if the Pats win the Super Bowl with this receiving corp.

BTW, I know this particular post is about the defense, but everything seems to come back to the receivers with you. If the Pats get lit up on defense and the Pats can't keep up on offense, then you are right about the receivers.

speaking of great Pats fans...if there's a better one than Tunescribe ,I'd like to meet THAT person...having to put up with me for an entire game has to be a Herculean feat...and you know what's weird?..there's all these kids sititing within a few seats all around me and sonuvabiatch!, by the second half they have me surrounded!...and every time I open my big mouth they all make these googly eyes and start laughing...I think I served as entertainment for the under 12 crew the entire half...

As I recall, I've claimed this team's floor is higher than 8 wins with a healthy Brady, so why would I want the team to go 8-8?

My issues with the receivers were the health of Amendola (I'm already proven right about this one and don't need the team to lose games for that to be so, so claiming that I'd want them to lose games for this reason makes no sense) and the trading away of Welker (which has clearly impacted the offense). Furthermore, as you yourself acknowledge, my post here was mostly about the defense, not the offense. Hell, I wanted the Patriots to draft multiple receivers, so why the hell would I want those receivers to fail?

To use your comments here, I "can be right" while the team wins, no problem.

The Pats today is my favorite type of football. Dominant defense, solid and efficient offense. Would rather win 23-3 over 42-24 any day. If the Pats continue like this, they are built better for the playoffs than any of the last five years.

I agree......23-3 is much more satisfying. I'll take "stopping" vs "containing" every Sunday.
21-------->13--------->3--------->_____??
Fill in the blank..........-9
