Amendola - Limited w/Groin Injury

Could you please cite his 'history with' soft tissue/muscle strains/pulls/tears? I've searched the Internet and can't seem to come up with any history of 'that sort of thing.' Thanks

I clearly wasn't relating it to a particular type of injury. Post with the injury-prone article was fairly straightforward on that point.

Ok, he's only listed as limited, and I'm sure he'll be fine by the time the game rolls around, but anyone who can't laugh at this simply has no soul.

We should wrap him up in bubble-wrap and IR him.. Save him for next year ;)

I came up empty too.

Never knew so many people were immune from breaking bones, but DA is not. That soft china doll.

Nothing new. He is always hurt at some point

Over or under 4 weeks until he misses a game

And the overreaction thread of the day goes to.....

He's fine. Have anyone been following Belichick's injury reports over the last 13 years? I wouldn't be surprised if 30 players are listed as questionable tomorrow.

Call me when Amendola has a real injury. BTW, Amendola is a tough SOB and plays through injuries. He has never had a problem with minor injuries keeping him out of games. It is the major injuries that have knocked him out of games.

Amendola is hurt ? What a friggen shock, it's like saying Brady is great. We should short-term IR him, he's gonna miss half the season anyway. Amendola+Edelman may actually = 1 full season from a slot receiver.

Glass I Dowling was another"overreaction" ...right?

Dowling went on the IR two years in a row. Call us when Amendola goes on the IR.

Again, Amendola's problems have never been multiple smaller injuries. He's not injury prone that way. He usually plays through any smaller injury like a groin pull. His injury problems have been major injuries (one that almost literally killed him). A groin injury that limited him in practice is not a major injury.

I admit is it kinda funny that Amendola starts the year on the injury report given his history, but unfortunately this thread has turned into a sky is falling thread fueled by the usual trolls who come out of the woodwork whenever the remotely bad thing happens to this team.

Good call. He should definitely get the in-season IR because he's limited in practice. That makes a ton of sense.

There isn't any. All the games Amendola missed in his career have been because of two injuries. One was a dislocated elbow and the other was a broken clavical. Those are his only two injuries that have ever caused him to miss games. Unfortunately for him, both were major injuries that made him miss significant time.

One was a dislocated elbow

Which had it happened after 2011 he wouldn't have missed the whole season.

The only difference between Welker tearing his ACL and Amendola dislocating his elbow is Welker did it in the last game of the regular season, Amendola did it in Week 1.

How come no-one talks about how outside of the two freak injuries he has been healthy.

14 games in '09 after being inactive the first two weeks
16 games in '10

Also never missed a game all 4 years of college because of injury.

Dowling on the other hand had been plagued with injuries all the way back to high school.

Careful there.

Too many actual facts just angers the lynch mob.

Yes, you're certainly right there. There are zero examples of the kinds of things that would point to the nagging sort of injuries that someone like Aqib Talib has experienced with his hamstring and hip issues.

Even in the case of DA's clavicle injury, as severe as it was, he was able to return only 5 weeks later which shocked a lot of people. Initially it was debated if he'd ever play the game of football again, let alone return at any point last year.

He did have an ankle issue that limited him somewhat once he returned, but I don't believe that he missed any time from it aside from the 1st quarter of the returning game.

Sky isn't falling...it just sucks that he can never stay healthy...ever

I definitely agree with and appreciate the concern with Amendola's health. The worries are warranted in my opinion.

However I also think that some don't understand the difference between the usual "nagging" type of injuries that may point to a play being made of glass, and the types of football accidents that sometimes occur.

We'll have to see which side of the fence Amendola falls on over the course of the next couple of seasons. To be honest I'm hoping that he plays in 14+, but I won't lie and say that the worry is not in the back of my head either.

To this point though, I wouldn't personally agree with those who say that he always gets injured just due to the differences in the nature of the specific injuries.
