Kurt Warner's Top 5 QB's....

Smell that? Smells like jealousy and bitterness.

Are we talking next year or several years?

If next year I like Manning because of the team around him. If we are talking just theoretical best on that list, I think Brady has to be number one as much as I hate that. If we are talking about who would you take right now, given age etc, I think Rodgers is the obvious choice.

He did it backwards.

Haha, actually if Rodgers and Brees were switched I would agree completely. But backwards is definitely closer than his list

Obviously he doesn't like Tom because he beat him in the SB. But it's entirely backwards IMO.

warner does his Top 5 QBs every week during the regular season. he has put Brady at number 1 on more than 1 occasion. I don't think he hates brady at all.

Putting Matt Ryan second might be even dumber than ranking Brees and Ryan above Brady. I think right now it's:

1a. Rodgers
1b. Brady
2. Manning
3. Brees
4. Ryan

Wouldn't be surprised if Luck, RG3, Wilson got on that list after this season.

Not sure how Rodgers is 1a. He has won 1 SB, and his playoff record aside from that season is 1-3 with the win being over Joe Webb.
5 years
1 SB
1 no playoffs
2 one and done
1 win over Joe Webb then loss

i can see that. Brady is 1-3 best QB in league..but no one is sure how he will be with all these rookies and no gronk. Once they see he is doing well..he will move up

And that is how Warner explained Brady being "low" on this list. It's not a list of "the best" QB's, it's who was in the best spot going into week 1.

Don't have an issue with that or this list, although I think Matty might be a little too high....

Yup. That is what he does every week. His ranking is literally a "Flavor of the Week"

I still can't grasp Ryan being in there at 2.

Nobody in their right mind is taking Ryan above Brady, Brees, and Rodgers. I think Brady, Rodgers, and Forehead are clearly above Brees because Brees throws too many interceptions and doesn't win as much. Peyton's countless one and dones should put him below Brady. My top 5.
1. Brady
2. Peyton (as much as I give him ****, nobody scares me more in a one score game late in the 4th)
3. Rodgers
4. Brees
5. Ryan (although I really have a hard time trusting him in the playoffs) I want to put Eli here but he's so wildly inconsistent. I'd prob take Eli if this was top 5 going into the playoffs.

How does Warner even breathe with Manning's thing so far down his throat?

This has to be for fantasy or does he flip flops more than John Kerry. This past summer I saw Warner on NFLN during one of those Top 100 reaction show arguing why Brady is number one and why he would take TB12 over ARod.

What is more egregious: Ryan over Rodgers or Brees (and Ryan) over Brady?

I agree - and for FANTASY football, I think his list makes perfect sense.

Manning's team will throw, throw and throw some more. He's got the weapons and a mediocre defense that will keep him throwing.

Ryan's got amazing weapons to throw to down there in Atlanta.

Rogers will put up big numbers, as will Brees - they always do.

Brady's facing a lot of adversity with so many rookies around him - and the Pats will run a lot. From a fantasy perspective, I don't know that I disagree with this list, and from that perspective, it's the ONLY WAY, I would mention Ryan with the other four.

I have to agree with this, I watch his top 5 almost every week and Brady spends a lot of time at number 1 or 2 and Warner is generally raving about his play.

Maybe he's just pretending IDK, the twitter exchange between Warner and Fixit last year did show that he had some reservations about BB and the pats, to say the least , so who knows.

Matt Ryan?

I'd take Flacco, Eli or Rothelisburger over him in a playoff game.

True but he has still done more than Warner's #2 and as much as his #1 in half the time, which shows how bad Warner's list is.

I will say if you're speaking in terms of quarterback performance during the regular season a 28 year old Aaron Rodgers is a pretty good choice for #1 or #2.

Ya. But yet it's the two back to back one and dones that Brady had in '09 and '10 that put a huge dent in his legacy. Only has 3 one and dones his whole career.

I laugh so hard when I see someone on one of the sports networks come on and say after Brady started 14-2 in the playoffs he is 3-5 and it hurts him in the discussion of GOAT.

Oh so they mean even with the 5 losses in the last 8 playoff games the guy still has the best overall record in the playoffs at 17-7.

That is literally 3 plays away from being 20-4 with 6 SB rings. That's how close it has been.

Favre is the only other guy to have 24 starts in the playoffs he went 13-11 (3 one and done), Montana had 23 and was 16-7 (4 one and dones in his career, 3 straight one and dones in the prime of his career, 2 of them to the Belichick coached Giants defense)

Here are the other supposed better QBs

Peyton Manning 9-11 (8 one and done) (12 playoff appearances)
Drew Brees 5-4 (2 one and done) (5 playoff appearances)
Aaron Rodgers 5-3 (2 one and done) (4 playoff appearances)
Matt Ryan 1-4 (3 one and done) (4 playoff appearances)

Brady didn't have his 3rd playoff loss until SB 42, which was his 17th playoff start.

Manning had his 3rd loss in his 3rd playoff start, 3 straight one and dones
Brees had his 3rd loss in his 7th playoff start.
Rodgers 3rd loss in his 8th playoff start
Ryan same as Manning first 3 playoff starts all one and done.

Just saw this tweet by Warner....

Kurt Warner ?@kurt13warner 2h
If I were picking BEST overall QBs it would look like this: 1) Brady 2) Manning 3) Rodgers 4) Brees 5) Big Ben ... But that's not the list!
