Fairly surprised at the Mesko cut--definitely a salary cap move. Allen has a great leg, there's no doubt about that. I hope he's a good holder for FGs and PATs though.

Not to me. Forston was the only other guy on my 53, and I had him as a likely late cut after a scrap-heap signing.

I've lost a couple from my 53, but none that were strong convictions (other than Mesko).

There are a whole bunch of people stunned that Tebow got cut.

I'm surprised Forston got cut, since they're so thin behind Wilfork and Kelly.

Actually a little surprised that Cunningham got cut for the same reason.

Many people here seemed pretty sure Winn had won a job on the 53.

And Mesko shocked me - and pretty much everyone else, I expect.

The Mesko cut is about marginal utility. Clearly the Patriots didn't think Mesko was worth 750k more than Allrn, especially since Mesko will be a free agent next year and the Patriots may not have an undrafted Ray Guy winner waiting like this year.

Cunningham finally cut. I guess he didn't have damning pictures of the coaching staff in the shower. Feel bad for Tebow, but it it was about straight up competition, he looked horrible for 3/4's of the preseason and is simply not a good quarterback. Best of luck to him, post-Pats.

Sims has not been cut yet correct? I'd like him to make it, there's a good chance that a couple of our WRs will bust or contribute next to nothing in year one so I think we have to carry more especially as light as we are at TE now
