Why did this team sign Tebow?

I have said this before...Tebow makes everyone right.

He makes the crowd that loves him right , when he uncorks and unconventional play for a first down late in a game and then leads an impressive drive to win it. He makes the hater crowd right when he plays so bad he looks like he does not even belong in the NFL.

The next two games will tell us quite a bit of where Tebow is at at this stage in his career (he won't be cut until the end if he is to be cut) . He is overdue for a real good performance. lets see what happens.....

If they still have Tebow on the team, it's because they very much like the qualities he brings to the field. He showed without a doubt that he's a huuuugge project for a qb coach, but if they keep him, then it means that this signing was more than just some whim.

I think Tim's pretty close to shot, mentally, but if they think they can squeeze some good play out of him, then it's their right to do so. We can agree or disagree all we want, but crying about it all year long is gonna get pretty tiresome.

Notice that first word. IF When you combine this word with the following thought (see #2), it's talking about a possible scenario that may come up. It may or may not happen. This is why people use the word "if", sometimes. Here's a paraphrase:

If the coaches keep him, it's because they like something about his game. Some quality/s that might make them consider him a worthwhile project.

Now, look at #3. He's shown to be terrible at passing the football. He would be a huge project for the qb coach if they kept him. If they keep him, in spite of his struggles with passing, then it shows pretty clearly that they must like something else about him. Some other quality that he may have.

Finally, we can read the last paragraph, which shows my personal opinion on the matter. Doing things like "reading", particularly, reading the entire post, helps to provide the "reader" with something called "context". I really doubt you understand any of this, though, so I'll quit wasting my time typing at you.

I'll finally weigh in after observing reaction for a few days .

Tebow sucked, he held on to the ball too long and missed open receivers . Yes he made plays with his feet and extended a drive but overall it was a poor performance .

Some will point out he has not played in over a year , has had a short time with offense or even that it really wasn't in the cards for him to get so much time in that game .

It doesnt matter why he played poorly , it could have been because the phase of the moon and sun were not in alignment , it doesn't matter .

Tebow has this (quite possibly and realistically ) final shot to make it in the NFL at QB . He has to out play all expectation of him just being a QB 3 . He really needs to bring it the next time he gets a shot . It doesn't matter if that is fair or not , it is what it is.

And You know what ? I am 100% certain he understands it and because he DOES have the clutch gene , he might surprise us all the next time .

I am a big Tebow fan and I wouldn't be shocked if he gets cut . Whatever Tebow has morphed into he doesn't seem to be the guy with ice water in his veins late in games circa 2011. That is one of the more well crafted straw men I've seen in quite awhile. If you actually had a basis for this assertion, from this forum, it might mean something. Where have people been spewing this stuff here? If you have to travel to some other forum to find tidbits to take offense to, well... how is that affecting patsfans.com?

Pretending that the hate stems from "Tebowites" flies in the face of what this thread clearly shows. Just take a casual stroll through the last few hundred posts, and you'll see that the vast majority of the dogmatic, uncompromising, and insulting posts come from a small handful of "haters" (yeah, I said it) who post about it dozens of times a day. Hell, I can't even make a reasonable, fairly generic post without it getting nitpicked and insulted by some crusading anti-Tebow zealot.

Now, if you'd want to argue that the whole Tebow Circus itself is cancerous, that's more likely. Wherever Tebow goes, there will be people that hate him passionately, and people who defend him just as much. You could see the cycle as either cancer, or overzealous discussion/distraction from other issues on the team. Once again, though, just read through some of this thread. It doesn't take long to see where the more "cancerous" posts come from.
