In defense of Tebow he does have a legitimate learning disability. As much as his fan base refuses to accept it having dyslexia likely does prevent him from being able to view plays property, process the information quickly and make a proper determination of how to proceed accordingly.
In college his athleticism compensated for his mental handicap unfortunately the NFL is a much faster game and his talent level is not superior to the defenders.
If you look at the body of work of Tom Brady his greatness I mostly attributed to the mental aspects of his game, his quick and decisive decision making, his ability to anticipate the outcome of a play, and his ability to maintain his fundamentals and techniques reputationsly. Brady has never been confused as a freak athlete.
Thanks for bringing this up again. I meant to post a reply on the subject yesterday but got sidetracked.
I read the info you linked to at Wiki. I'm not sure that his dyslexia impacts all the things that you mentioned. Basically, I'm not sure that dyslexia affects reading the defense, processing that information and making the proper determination of how to proceed.
Where it definitely does have an impact is learning the playbook.
That said, I'm not a psychologist and I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I could easily be wrong.
