Really???

So he dropped to the 4th round because of on-field performance?

Look, I'm here saying repeatedly that all conjecture is a waste of time right now.....about as useless and wrong as the threads regarding Edelman awhile back by everyone who had no clue.

However, that statement by you is a head scratcher. You mean to say he had no negative reputation coming out of college?????

It is not that there was "NO" negative reputation. Lots of players have a negative reputation about their past and fall. The NFL has no shortage of prima-donnas in the draft. But bad enough to have first round talent fall all the way to the 4th?

It was more of a question of what did he do that was so much worse than the other guys? Even Maurice Clarett went in the third and that dude was a time bomb waiting to happen.... and ALMOST the whole planet knew it.

Something set him apart from the others that made him fall almost half of the draft. Didn't see anything that said his past associations and rep was THAT bad. So what was it that made the concerns even worst than all those other problem children in the draft?

Thank you.

If Hernandez was a Jet these Pats Fans.Com enablers and excuse makers would have torches and pitch forks in hand right now.

If Hernandez were a Jet you'd be in a pickle, too, being obligated to root for him and all.

You don't know when or if the surveillance system became inoperable.

I know that the security system on my car when set could be setoff by unconscious actions on my part, or other non useful occurences such as a heavy truck rumbling by and tripping the motion sensors. After half a dozen such experiences I grew to hate the damn thing. I might have smashed the damn thing if I could, if I had a bad temper. I just haven't set the thing for years.

I said before that I probably, like many people, have old, broken or obsolescent cell phones lying around. Who is to say the cell phone was broken, or merely inoperative, or even when it became that way?
Even if he destroyed them immediately prior, since when is that evidence of murder?

As for the cleaning service, do we even know if they hired explicitly and unusually for that time, or more probably provide cleaning service routinely after a weekend? Since when is cleaning your house a crime?

While i am going to withhold judgement until we know the facts the pieces about the Cleaning service, the cell phone, and the security system being broken really lead me to believe that he is trying to cover up his involvement with this crime. As you say it is possible that these are just coincidences and there are plausible explanations for each of these details but the more they add up the more it seems like we are reaching for those explanations and the more likely explanation is the most obvious, which is that he is trying to hide something. Hopefully he is on the periphery but at this point it is almost impossible to believe he has no involvement in it at all. To me a best case scenario is an immunity deal where he testifies against those who committed the crime and a worst case is obvious.

The larger point I agree with, but this specific part I do not - if Hernandez were to get convicted of obstruction, NE/Boston fans would not take that lightly.

It would not be fair to say ALL fans, but a good part of them would be better.

(just wild speculation on my part)

I'm starting to wonder if Aaron's sister was involved and Aaron is covering up to protect her. If the other two guys were released and aren't being put under this type of scrutiny (have no idea BTW), it would make some sense. Has anyone seen his sister since this happened? I know some woman was reported being there at first but has it been confirmed who they were? I would think that if it were her boyfriend and this was something innocent, she would be there or Aaron would be consoling her. I haven't heard "boo" about her right now (might have just missed it). How about Aaron's girlfriend? Anyone seen her either?

Just to check, isn't that supposed to be Aaron's GF's sister?

Unless you are part of the official investigation, your statement above is borne completely from ignorance.

The very same amount of ignorance (just from the opposite side) used by Patsfan2 and Triumph.

The level of certitude from both sides by people who have no actual knowledge of the investigation is astounding.

It really says more about people who write that than about the situation.

Well the only knowledge known as a fact is:

Ahern was seen with the player sometime in the past days before the murder

3 or so cars rented in his name (1 found at the crime scene)

No murder weapon found

Odin was killed by a shot in the back of the head ( and a gun nearby himself)

Gun shots apparently heard when the residents were questioned

That's all ahern and that he is done and in jail?

Just to check, isn't that supposed to be Aaron's GF's sister?

Maybe... I don't remember the exact relationship there. I just know that there's something too quiet about that whole thing right now. There seems to be an unnatural distance and lack of support there. Not sure if it's because of the media or not but there seems to be a lack of presence and lack of verbal support. I'm just wondering if there's more to that angle.

I suspect the police already have a good idea what happened though.

Michael Vick says hi.

Ok granted I got out of the Boston Police Academy 25 years ago but I'm still pretty, pretty, pretty sure that when it comes to sentencing guidelines:

Murder > Animal Cruelty.

I read that there is security footage from somewhere that places AH with the victim hours before the victims death....it has all 4 of them together

aaawwww yeah!!!

calling people Jets fans because you don't agree with them.....you're so imaginative!!!

Two thoughts:

(1) Williams was actually a retired player at the time of the shooting incident.
(2) Yes, murder is a more serious crime than animal cruelty, but for many people, what Vick did is on par with child abuse.

Thank you.

I have no problem saying that if this was Santonio Holmes, I would be roasting him at the stake. A large portion of fans are hypothetical that way and it isn't just Pats' fans.

I am giving Hernandez the benefit of the doubt only because I rushed to judgement with Edelman and when the facts came out he was 100% innocent. Even though the press had him dead to rights before the video evidence was released to the public.

Have you read Triumph's posts over the years? He is a Jets fan posing as a Pats fan.

That what JackBauer says about me too.......it's a lame invention by a homer

Just when you think the media speculation can't get more embarrising you go to a website and it still says arrest warant issued for Hernandez. Is there an issue with swinging by his house and arresting him, the cops are in his backyard correct?

Its a joke.

You'd think having an arrest warrant would be something that was somewhat easy to verify. The press over the last week has REALLY had a lot of trouble for that one for some reason. Probably a product of an overzealous media trying to get the jump on all the other networks in order to be first. For a lot of these reporters, this is their "White Bronco."

Especially when a criminal clerk in North Attleboro said there hasn't been an arrest warrant signed.

I mean the cops may have an application for a warrant with his name on it but until it is signed by a judge there is no warrant. But the fact that if they have supposedly prepared one and haven't submitted it for a judge may indicate they don't think they have enough evidence that would persuade the judge into signing it even if it was the obstruction of justice charge.

For all we know they could have submitted an arrest warrant alongside the search warrant they served on Saturday and the judge denied the arrest warrant but gave them the search warrant.

Could see a judge saying: "You got nothing that actually has him obstructing justice expect for a surveillance hard drive that you can't say when it was broken or who it was broken by and a cell phone he willingly handed over. I'll give you another search warrant but until you show me proof of him actually obstructing this case your application for an arrest warrant is denied"

and then after they leave his office he hops on PatsFans

Just speculating here but, does anyone else think they might not have anything on him? Read some theories on PFT and some other websites that they are just trying to pressure him into cracking and they probably don't have much evidence on him. Going to be an interesting few days.
