oh tough guy . . . keep talking all you want . . . you got lucky, but I would advise you not to cop an attitude with the cops, they are you first line of defense . . . cause the next time you get pulled over and have a had a few drinks and there may be a tad smell of alcohol on your breath and the cop has to make a decision to run you in or let you go, the next cop may not be so nice . . . . just a warning . . .

and just to complete the circle, I have had the opposite experience with cops . . .

• I have several friends who are lawyers. They always tell me never speak to the police in a criminal investigation without an attorney. There are a lot of innocent people who have gone to jail because they spoke to police without an attorney and their statements came back to be used against them in court. Cooperation may be the best thing in a lot cases, but cooperation without legal advice could be far more damaging than clamming up.
• It looks like Hernandez isn't really a suspect, but unfortunately neither was a lot people initially who ended up being the killer. It looks like Hernandez is a victim of coincidence that the murder took place in the car he rented, but who knows.
• I think Hernandez ran with a fairly bad crowd in his younger years. This might be a case study for athletes to abandon their bad seed friends from their past when they get rich. Too early to tell though. The murder could have been a random shooting.

I don't know...could be, maybe; but my guess is that it's specifically related to the crime and investigation at hand.

They aren't really concerned with finding or charging anyone with that kind of crap at this moment in time.

I'm actually guessing paperwork, receipts, possibly the camera and pictures of things--and evidence of that nature.

Yeah, supposedly just a single cardboard box, but I'm not sure what we can really take from that at this point. I'm imagining a cardboard file box myself, I don't know about anyone else.

The word has pretty much been from moment one that AHern wasn't necessarily a "suspect" but had more pieces to the pie that they obviously needed to solve this crime.

They also had a portable lab on site for non-confirmatory testing in the inital stages, but again...I don't know whether or not we can take anything from that, as it may be nothing more than standard procedure at every on site warrant search.

Hernandez had a pretty solid upbringing. His older brother was in college 3 years ahead of him, and his father, who died when Aaron was 17, was a football guy who they revered, and he was a disciplinarian. They were from New Britain though, but I don't think the family had it tough.

Oh, he's balls deep connected to the crime somehow, we just don't know how/what the connection is.

It could be major or it could be minor. We just don't know.

If they found blood or a gun that was recently fired, they would not be leaving the house right now. They would be turning it upside down and going through everything with a fine tooth comb.

They might have found something, but it wasn't anything as damning as a literal smoking gun or any blood evidence.

The last thing they would be doing is leaving the house to allow Hernandez to destroy or dispose of anymore evidence if they found a gun recently fired or blood splatter on clothing. They would be standing on the front lawn with Hernandez until they got a warrant to search for more evidence.

He may have had a solid upbringing, but he has certainly made some questionable decisions and has had some harder edge to him at times. Not that I am suggesting that should be taken into account here, because it shouldn't.

He's certainly had some problems with maturity issues and making some questionable choices, but obviously nothing like this.

I mean--we all know that he's followed his own rule book at times, not that I think that should "define" him one way or another, but I don't think your comment was incorrect that he hasn't exactly ran with Rhodes scholars etc.

And you don't know our criminal justice system . . . if actually did you would not have made such a response, and you claim to be an attorney . . . if you did understand our system you would realize that there times when your fate is in the hands of the cops, whether you like it or not . . . if you are caught speeding on 128 doing 66 mph, the cop can let you go or give you a ticket, which you cant defend, for going 66 mph . . . when a cop arrives on a scene of a bar room fight he can either calm the situation down or arrest everyone in the building for A&Bs who was claimed by a witness they threw a punch . . . and so on . . .

. . . there are many example where a cop has the discretion to hall your behind into jail and charge with something that you will very likely not be able to defend or he can let you go . . . at times it is best to not come off like an internet ***** can help the cop err on the side of discretion and let you walk . . . so I repeat contrary to the absolute 100% talk to the hand comments by the want-a-be criminals lawyers here sometimes it helps to have some level of conversation and cooperation with the cops . . .
