Brent Grimes signs with Miami. 1yr deal for $5.5 million
Same price ballpark as Talib.

At that price coming off an achilles injury... screams risk to me. They are an injury that is notorious for lingering after effects. If he is healthy that is a great deal for a CB like him...if he has lingering issues..we will see

Every roster move matters Froob. One year prove it or injury insurance deal still matter this season. No doubt it's a high risk high reward signing, but I wouldn't put that deal together. I've seen inauspicious achilles injuries last for some time in athletes. As an explosive athlete, it's not the type of thing you want to be dealing with, especially as you start to push age.Only a one year deal tho. I mean, unless fins were going to spend to the cap, doesn't really matter unless your the dolphins owner and don't want to waste money.
Lots of swapping going on in Miami, which may/may not offset some of their choices:
Wheeler--Burnett
Ellerbe--Dansby
Grimes--S.Smith
Keller--Fasano
(I'm not seeing as much clear cut upgrade here as some may, although it certainly has potential--still a big "IF" though)
Other notable losses:
Jake Long
Reggie Bush
Key additions that weren't necessarily swaps:
Mike Wallace
Brandon Gibson
Bills signed QB Kevin Kolb to a two-year, $13 million contract.

I thought he would actually stay in ARI. I think our pass defense can handle him though.
Miami will almost definitely be adding a OT in the 1st round. Their WR corps is kinda scary with Wallace, Hartline, Gibson and Bess. Add Keller in there and they could be pretty tough.
Your point is certainly valid. I do believe that they will take over as the clear #2 team in the division, and their future definitely looks much brighter than this time a year ago. This will be Jeff Ireland's make/break timeline in the next season or two, so I totally agree with their aggressiveness.
There are many rumors that Bess may be the odd man out, we'll have to see if that is true or not. Either way, they have improved upon their WR group and QB.
I do however, question some of these "lateral" moves somewhat. They could shake out either way which may not lead to the improvement that many currently see in those specific areas.
I dont have a big enough post count to create my own but a friend of mine just messaged me that a friend of his who has ties to breaking sports news claims that the Patriots and Browns. Are in discussions for a blockbuster of a trade.
Keep in mind he claims this is a lock but like you I am untrusting but just thought I'd share what I was told if it does come to fruition we will all be happy.
The rumor has Mallett and our 2014 4th round pick to the Browns for Joe Haden a second rounder this year or next he claimed the patriots wanted a pick this year.
The rumor also claims the patriots are asking for a conditional pick next year as high as a 2.
This would be a true blockbuster deal and I believe robbing the Browns.
This gives us a top 5 defensiveback and instantly solidifies our secondary then we can focus on the draft for wide outs or defensive line.
Flame away it sounds to good to be true but if Lombardi really wants Mallett appearantly they are ready to pony up.
No Jason Campbell will not be their starter Mallett is their man and the Patriots would be crazy to Turn this down if true unless they don't rhino Brady has 3.more dominant years left.
The Joe Haden aspect is interesting
Its possible could you imagine putting Haden on the field with Talib
Two things stop this from happening one Lombardi would have to be ****coo for cocoa puffs to part with Hayden.
2. Hayden will want paid sooner rather than later.
Now a move into their 1st round seems more logical.
Something like the Patriots trade Mallett and the 29th pick for clevelands 1st and third picks this year.
And a conditional pick as high as a second next year.
That would be exciting.
...............
I know I've been hoping for this and predicting it that's why when I got a message that my friends bookie said it was in his words close to a lock I got excited its pry for not but I hope this is true easily boosts our defense to top 10 before the draft.
Again I wanted to call it ahead of time if it indeed happens like the man said,
