FA is still young. We have 19mil. If we could come out with something like this It'd be great:

CB Aqib Talib
CB Antoine Cason
S Bernard Pollard
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey

I agree with your positive thoughts. There is still plenty of time left, and we have a nice amount of money remaining.

I would have to think that it's much more than "19 million" though? How are you calculating that number, not that it matters all that much?

EDIT: I suppose that could be in range, if you are assuming the rookie signings. I don't care to do that because we don't technically need the money at the moment, but we should always assume about 3 million or so for the rookies, as they can add another 1 million before the draft--and likely will.

Llyod can free up an additional 2.5 million if that goes down before Saturday's deadline.

I just can't get that bad preseason play by him out of my head. It makes me uncomfortable with him going into the season as our starting RT.

Yeah I know what you mean but don't forget how badly Solder performed in the pre season and then actually had a very good first season as LT. Pre season doesn't say a thing. Remember when they dominated the Bucs and we thought finally the D is coming back ...

3-4 M for draft picks right..then amendola 3.5 or so

Would you rather over spend on all of these FAs and not make the playoffs..or play it smart and be there in the end...unreal

Trouble is the Patriots are focusing too much on Talib. If they wait too
long, all the decent cornerbacks will be gone. They should at least re-sign Arrington to fill one spot.

At WR, the word is Lloyd will be cut. Who replaces him. At least
re-sign Edleman, to cover their butt.

You know for a fact they are only talking to talib and won't talk to anyone else at all until his deal or no deal is done? HA

25-4 (amendola)-1 (washington)-1 (Hooman)=19?

yay Steve Gregory

two more words.... sucks ass.

Two words.... Steve Gregory. And reed will sign with Hou tomorrow according to schef.

I don't want to see Gregory as anything more than a role player/backup next year. I like him in the #3-#4 spot, but nothing better than that.

I think it would fall more in line with what Belichick feels about T.Wilson than Gregory, + and possible plans for a higher round draft pick.

I'd have to say that's pretty spot on.

I forgot about Hooman's tender, since I'm assuming/hoping that he ends up replaced. Amendola's should be in the 3-4 million range.

Less that 19 if you figure rookies after the draft

Free agent Greg Jennings is dining with Vikings brass on Thursday evening, including coach Leslie Frazier and GM Rick Spielman.
Even Jared Allen is in attendance as the Vikings "clearly (try) to make a strong impression," according to reporter Tom Pelissero. In other words, it's more than a tire kicking as the Vikes try to sell the market's top remaining wideout on Minnesota. A deal isn't expected Thursday night. Pelissero spoke with an NFL executive who "could see" Jennings bringing home a two- or three-year deal worth between $7-$8 million annually.

Vikings wining and dining him

Bennett to the seahawks... Ugh, I wanted him for the Pats.

I would assume the plan is to play Bennett at LE and move Red Bryant inside to replace Branch. Avril at RE and I think they will cut Clemons. Use Irvin as a sub rusher.

Really good team they've had a great offseason as have the 49ers.. Should be fun watching the NFC West.

What about the Fanene money?

Yup. Reed will be a texan from all i am seeing on twitter
