Seattle's D is going to be bull**** in 2013.

I just hope their is a plan in place because wow some teams are really improving.
How far can number 12 carry us on his back?

You really think this team just said "yeah lets not bother with a plan this year..lets wing it..." :bricks:

Would you rather over spend on all of these FAs and not make the playoffs..or play it smart and be there in the end...unreal

Other than, arguably, Miami and KC, nobody's overspending on FAs this year. The prices are way down.

That's what I'm saying it's always good to have talented fresh bodys. I really believe that Jones will be a major force this season and Hightower the playmaking LB, but for that kind of money you simply have to have a go at him. I'm just frustrated because I had really high expectations. I thought with restructuring Brady and the value in the market they want to kill it this FA. Many of the good DBs are gone already. We haven't heard a thing about Vollmer or Talib. I just hope it's the calm before the storm. All the serious contenders got better.

I can understand being frustrated or disappointed due to the market commanding very low and reasonable deals.

None of us went into the FA period with high hopes, but many of us did expect some of the middle tiers players to be brought in to address some of our needs and improve talent + competition.

I would have liked to see another couple of players gone after, especially on these low signing deals. Michael Bennett for 1 yr/5 million could have been a nice payoff, along with some of the other 1 and 2 yr smaller deals.

In other words, I'm not agreeing with the average fan who is whining and complaining, but the lower market signings have me salivating at the thought of reasonable value deals that could have improved the team. Obviously Belichick sees it differently.

We have said the exact same thing every year except 07

"when will pats do something!?!!"
"Season is over..."
"this team sucks so bad"

happens every FA...and guess what..we are always near or headed to AFC champ game every year...

Getting or close to getting to the afc champ game is great, hopefully they add a player or two that can get them where they need to be, back on top.

FA is still young. We have 19mil. If we could come out with something like this It'd be great:

CB Aqib Talib
CB Antoine Cason
S Bernard Pollard
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey

You forgot the most important name when putting that list together, Sebastian Vollmer.

Woodson met with 49ers..said talks went well. Woodson a 49er and Reed a Texan is my guess

If Vollmer's price is in the 4-5 million range, sure. 7+ pass. Considering Cherilus and Bushrod got 7 mil a year I'll be surprised if he doesn't.

Very good way to describe what I was thinking. I mean I always understood why we didn't got into a bidding war for a receiver with the crazy money they got last year but this year there so many reasonable value deals that the Pats are known for at positions where the lack of talent is so evidently.

I mean for years we said in Bill we trust in FA to fix this D and it hasn't happened yet.

What's your plan for a replacement then because protecting Tom should always be this teams number 1 priority.

why the **** aren't you going after Reed, Bill.

I think Cannon is ready to take over. He was terrible in preseason, but played well in place of Vollmer during the regular season.

Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter

Ravens S Ed Reed spoke today like a man saying goodbye to Baltimore. Every sign now points to him getting done a deal in Houston on Friday.

No reed for pats..on to the next one

I just can't get that bad preseason play by him out of my head. It makes me uncomfortable with him going into the season as our starting RT.
