Glenn Ordway out at WEEI !

I hope Ordway gets back on the air in this area (The Sports Hub) and kicks WEEI's ass. He built a powerhouse with the Big Show until Wolfe destroyed it.

It would be quite amusing if the Whiner Line callers started leaving WEEI and calling into his new show...

I think Ordway is probably done on radio in this area. I think the Big Show would have lost in the ratings battle even if they didn't change the show format. Especially since that was the only way to keep Michael Holley who would have bolted to 98.5 and probably been paired with Felger vs. the Big Show and probably killed it even more in the ratings.

The Big Show format was a dying format in sports radio. It only was a powerhouse in Boston because WEEI had next to zero competition in the sports talk radio market. If you call a radio station with a signal so weak that you couldn't hear it beyond 20 miles away after sundown a real competitor.

It should be noted that Ordway got that job with Most by backstabbing Rick Weitzman. Its a story I'm very familiar with.

Ordway also did to Eddie Andelman what WEEI did to him. Ordway, who was the program director at the time, marginalized Andelman and then fired him.

Too bad that hasn't happened. Massarotti is 98.5's Achilles heel.

You need to move up about 24-26 inches to find the right anatomical description for Tony Massarotti. Hint: it also begins with an "A."

I think that is a little harsh... I am softening my views on sportscasters such as Felger and Massarotti. Remember that these are just regular Joe's like us who have to cover the antics of multi-millionaire prima donnas while working under intense pressure from their program directors and cynical listeners.

Thats if your comparing it to just sports stations, it also kicked the asses of shows like Opie and Anthony and all the other fm shows in the area. For many years, weei was the station to listen to am or fm, the Big O times may have come but a lot of you guys minimalize what he accomplished in his 18 years here, if it wasnt for the Big O theres no Felger on 98.5 today.

That's one of the most ridiculous pieces of tripe I've read on this forum. "Regular Joes like us"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Please vacate the premises Mrs. Felger (or is it Mrs. Massarotti).

Mrs Felger is kinda hot.
If that's who you are, PM me

What are these sportscasters paid? 50K/year? Maybe 70? I don't know but I suspect that they earning pedestrian salaries and having to deal with the constant pressure of guys like Wolfe...

Honestly, Fred I respect your posts. But the idea that these guys are like us is way off. None of them give 2 effs about their callers or posters on this website or any other.website. I think Felger and Mazz are worthless d-bags and you know what? That's what they think we are. No harm, no foul.

No, these guys (the full-timers) are drawing six-figure salaries. In Ordway's case, I'd say well into six figures.

It was really too bad, Eddie was an icon and Glenn had no problem ridiculing Eddie on the show periodically with his snide, throat clearing Eddie remarks. I am sure this news last week was sweet music to Eddie's ears. It's your turn to chuckle now Edward.

I believe Ordway was making a million bucks a year.

Before Ordway got his pay cut due to poor ratings, he was making around a million a year. Radio talk show hosts in morning or afternoon drive who get good ratings make a lot of money. Ordway is a millionaire.

I know the company who put in his home theater and smart home technology in his house (yes, Ordway has a theater in his house) and know he spent close to six figures on those things alone.

Gresh destroys the mid-day slot, too.

Gresh can be obnoxious but he does know football, and I appreciate that about him. He and Zolak bring the only credible football talk to local radio.
