ATippett56 NFL Week 20 Mock Draft Special

Note: Subject to change in future weeks (due to NFLDraftScout revised rankings)

1st Round - Bennie Logan, DT - LSU

I really like Bennie Logan and I have him in my next mock, but I think you can get him later than the 1st round. NFLDraftScout currently has him as a 3rd rounder and #104 overall. Obviously rankings will change, but if he is there in the 3rd, he will be a steal.

I'd love to trade out of the first and get an extra third. Would give us 4 picks on day two. The bad thing is that other teams know we want to deal out. GB hosed us on the value board last year. For example, don't want to trade my 2nd for a 3 and 5. Then we dealt them back the five for a 6 and two 7's. We got lucky with Dennard on the 2nd trade. You don't normally have a prospect as good as him without medical issues in the 6th. Well, except for that qb back in the day

Bennie Logan, DT, LSU
Height: 6-3. Weight: 287.
Projected 40 Time: 4.95.
Projected Round (2013): 1-2

Bennie Logan could fall into Round 2, so he probably should have waited a year. Still, there's a strong chance he'll go in the first round with a strong Combine.

The Verdict: OK move

If I remember correctly, the New England Patriots wanted to trade out of the #33 overall selection in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Yeah, and they got offers, but nobody offered enough.

Nfldraftscout moved him up to 62 I just saw but other sites have him much lower.

I will replace him with Uzoma Nwachukwu if wheaton is gone, but I don't think wheaton goes as high as some think.

Food for thought:

Tavon Wilson*|*Illinois,*FS*:*2012 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

Tavon Wilson was ranked the #212 overall prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft according to NFLDraftScout.

I wasn't criticizing you. I was just pointing out where he was ranked by NFLDraftScout, considering that is who you mentioned in your original post. I do agree though that they should have him ranked much higher because he is an extremely talented player. I would be happy with him in the 2nd (not sure about the 1st because there are a lot of talented players in this draft), but if he is available later he would be a steal.

Gil Brandt has a new mock out today. Has us taking John Jenkins - DT- Georgia. Going thru life fat, drunk and stupid is not the way to go. He does have a couple of names I hope to see picked before we do. E. Lacy at 16 to Rams. And, Barkley at 8 to Arizona. Maybe Buffalo will want to move ahead of Jax for Tyler Wilson or Matt Glennon and we can move back. Now for the bad news. Ogletree 8th, Ensah 12th listed as olb(I'm guessing 3-4 not clarified). Dion Jordan 11th as DE. Vaccarro 15th. I might go Jon Cooper given his board. If can't trade back.
I know he's getting up there. But, he still knows his shiat. He had Tannehill very high last year when a lot of people were down on him.

Bucky Brooks has us taking Tavon Austin, Daniel Jeremiah has us taking Tank Carradine and Charles Davis has us taking Matt Elam. I don't have near the respect for the last three that I do for Gil Brandt.

Not impressed with any of those, and don't give them any credibility this early on. But FWIW, Ziggy Ansah is still on the board when Brandt has us taking Jenkins. Jonathan Cooper is still on the board in one mock, and Jesse Williams is within 1 pick in another.

Let's see how things shake out over the next 3 months.

Brandt has Ansah going 12th go Miami. I like his mocks because they aren't as homogenous as a lot of guys. Don't shuffle the deck with the same players. If he sees someone who had a good year and looks promising. He isn't afraid to rate him high. IE. Eddie Lacy. I'll tell ya. I saw Lacy last year when Bama came to PSU. Tide had trouble running the ball on PSU. Gradually, they ground PSU to a pulp by forcing one three and out after another. Until that. Lacy ran much better than Richardson against them. He's got Terrance Williams and Hopkins ahead of the Tennessee duo. I thought Williams and Hopkins were outstanding. He's got Travis Frederick in there before anyone else I've seen. May not be correct. But, he did help build a dynasty doing this sort of thing.

I think that's pretty good but I'm going to take out Micah Hyde and maybe hodges too.

I'll add Mike Catapano from Princeton in the 5th/6th and Sio Moore also in the 5th/6th.

Still don't think wheaton goes much higher than 5th, maybe late 3rd, but I'd replace him with another WR if he does. Not sure which one. Stills from OK seems pretty good. Not sure if he'd last to the 5th.

ok here's my mock draft for 2013

First off, trade pick 28-32 depending on where we end up to the Buffalo Bills for their pick at 40 and theyre pick at 104 and 2014 5th. So our first for 2013 2nd, 4th and 2014 5th

Ok so now at number 40

Shariff Floyd DT Florida

BB loves Florida players and the Pats need another DT

Now at pick 64

Quinton Patton WR Louisiana Tech/ Alternative John Simon OLB Ohio State

My 2013 binky of the draft versatile and was the main part of Louisiana Tech FBS leading offense

Pick 96

Tharold Simon CB LSU

slightly bigger cornerback many comparisons to Richard Sherman gives us depth and gives us another option if Talib or Dennard gets hurt or if we dont resign Talib

Pick 104

Brian Winters OT Kent State

much love for Brian Winters on this board

Round 7 first pick #204

Terron Armstead OT/ Tyrann Mathieu CB

currently ranked in the 7th round but could be rising for now hes my pick here but if he rises Tyrann Mathieu CB

Round 7 2nd pick

Cooper Taylor SS Richmond/ Gilbert Pena DT Ole Miss

Im not sure which one id pick i would have them pretty even Cooper Taylor could develop for a year or two and Gilbert Pena could help immediately. I like both and would be happy with both
