This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

As Jets fans have pointed out, Jones is a limited player with no upside and only one move while Coples is a far superior player who just came into the league raw and has tons of more upside.

To be fair, Coples is a different player from Jones. Coples needs 2 things to succeed:

1) A direct path to the QB. He isn't ideally suited to get around the edge or change direction. Get him inside and he is very disruptive. The Jets aren't using him to maximum effect. Before his career is over, he will find a situation (Jets or elsewhere) that will run a system he thrives in.

2) Proper structure and motivation. He simply isn't a self-starter. This is the main problem with placing him on the Jets. They needed a player to add energy to a fadiing defense...not someone that requires energy to reach his potential. Adding Coples to this circus is like their offense adding Santonio Holmes and expecting...um, nevermind.

his main problem, as ANY player on that roster now or in previous seasons, is that it's the Jets...period....not trying to disagree or be snotty....just stating fact.

Not going to happen. The Jets can't cut Sanchez next year. They have to keep him the starting QB at least until he fails again next year as their anointed starter. No way are they going to have their back up QB have a $12.8 million cap hit next year. And definitely no way do they take a $17 million cap hit to release him. Sanchez as the starter in NY is a business decision, not a football one.

This is why I think Tebow might be moved even if they get fleeced. They need to get rid of the QB controversy because even if Tebow was the next Brady or Manning, the Jets would likely keep him benched for their overpaid Cali golden boy who is getting paid too much to be benched.

I wasn't suggesting that Sanchez might be cut. I was saying that if Tebow was traded, it would bring McElroy a big step closer to the field if Li'l Marky was injured or had to be relieved.

I am saying that since the Jets can't cut Sanchez until after the 2013 season and he is going to make $12.5 million next year, that they cannot bench him until after he fails as the starter again next year. They bench Sanchez for Tebow or McElroy, there is no going back. No way the Jets are going to have a $12.5 million cap hit for a back up QB or a $17 million cap hit for someone no longer on the roster.

Barring an injury to Sanchez, the Jets won't make a QB switch until around this time next year.

Marky Mark may need a hot dog break at some point.

maybe he should try Skittles and little girls again...

The Kansas Shytty Cheeves might stink, but the New Jersey Green Beans suck toxic sewage.

if you ever think you may be going crazy, just read a thread like this and restore your sense of sanity....I mean, attack our practice squad and make us give up high draft picks??? Is insanity like some kind of religion down there in Jersey or what?

Wow, this is absolutely amazing. I truly did not believe that someone could come up with something as inane as this:

It's obvious that this season may not be our greatest as an organization. New England, though, is bullish about their chances. We also know that New England likes to manage the back-end of their roster: cutting players, resigning them to the practice squad, elevating them, etc. What if we spent some energy on messing with their rhythm? Claim guys that they waive and hope to put on the PS. Sign away their PS players. Piss them off a little bit and make life less comfortable than they're used to. Throw them off their game. It won't make our team better, but it will make their team worse. A zero sum game.

So why do it? Well, once they're frazzled, then make an offer: we'll stop if they give us a favorable trade. Could be draft picks, could be players. But hey, we're a team with nothing to lose and they're a team with everything to lose. Take advantage of it.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Eternal Champion is a gag account. Those aren't serious posts. If I remember correctly, he once posted about faking out MRIs by using cadaver parts.

:ugh:

I can understand being a JEST fan. You can't help it. It's how you were raised. I was ready to be a Pats fan for life even if I never saw us win a super bowl.

But the thing is, I think we have enough proof now that the JEST suck, that they should think of the children. JEST parents - let the cycle of abuse stop here. Get a blue jersey in New Jersey is what I'm sayin'. Get the kids signed on with a decent organization, bit the bullet, and take 'em to the other stadium. Oh my bad, take 'em to the same stadium on different Sundays.

You were born slaves, JEST fans... but let your children grow up strong and free. THINK OF THE CHILDRENNNNNN

Eh, it's EternalChampion. I think he just likes to mess with people over there. He's the one who came up with the "use a cadaver leg to fake out the MRI machine" theory.

Yes he did. It was about Santonio Holmes faking his injury this year and how he could have easily fooled the MRI machine by purchasing a cadavre and taking the necessary body part with him.

The man was completely serious too.

Now apparently they will bully Bill by picking up our waivers and force us to give up 1st round picks...

lmfao...i saw that thread and came here to see if anybody has picked that one up.

I am willing to bet that post included the phrase "now hear me out..."

Eric Mangini always messed with our signings. He was a true jet. I fn cheered the day he wasn't in the league anymore.
