Branch was a 700 yard guy on the outside, and Salas is more athletic than Branch right now. He's also got 4 inches on Branch, which will help out on the outside.

Being more athletic than Deion Branch at this point is not anything to be bragging about. Branch however was an ARTISTIC route runner, which allowed him to get open. From what I've read Salas doesn't possess this skill at anywhere close to the Twig's level. Salas looks like he can get open from the slot (which is far easier to do than on the outside) and run after the catch

You must be grading on a curve. Given what he had to start out with and what they ended up with. Not to mention two of the three picks he traded for Tebow ended up being a pick away from being Gronkowski and the actual pick that took Hernandez.

There's no curve at all. It's obvious to anyone grading honestly.

First, with regards to Tebow, it's a myth that they had to give up a lot. People ignore the fact that he'd traded down initially.

Second, Thomas, Beadles, Walton and Decker will all be starters for the Broncos this year, and Perrish Cox is still in the league despite his legal issues. So, not even dealing with Tebow, that's a very good draft.

I wholeheartedly disagree. If anything, Salas will be utilized as leverage against Edelman not Welker, since Edelman's offensive production in the passing game has been less than stellar in the last few years. Edelman will be an unrestricted free agent next year.

And Edelman is considered whose backup? Seems like three players for the slot. Wes wants to get paid, and rightfully so, he has been quietly working for peanuts for years. Factor that with his age, diminutive size, and the beatings he takes regularly...I don't see us signing him unfortunately.

Salas, Lloyd, Slater...gronk, hern. Who cats about the wr designation with what could be the most prolific te tandem in quite some time...

In a pass happy league where defenses seem to be sacrificing size for speed, the pats are stockpiling tight ends with a stable of young rb talent. Maybe wrecks is onto something with the ground and pound (granted the pass is needed and an oline trumps both...).

1 - Look at his ability to stop on a dime and then reaccelerate to full speed.

With that change of direction ability I'm confident he can develop into an excellent route runner.

2 - Look at him lay into this defender, he's trying to send a message there. We desperately need that kind of physicality.
