316 passing yards in the playoffs against the #1 passing defence and the win, by essentially a rookie, would be hailed as an amazing performance for any other rookie QB not named Tebow. Any other would be hailed as a QB with a great future, that at least deserves a chance, only Tebow is thrown under the bus and the haters claim that he shouldnt even try to be a QB. That shows what clowns his haters are.
To be fair, I'm not sure that those who question Tebow's ability as an NFL QB are necessarily being 'haters.'
By all accounts, he failed miserably in many passing stats and real passing situations. This has been documented from day one, which was even before the draft where many had him projected as a different position altogether.
I honestly cannot think of one so-called 'expert' who currently views him as having a substantial NFL career as a starting QB. Has there been anyone at all who has felt that way?
Your stat drum that you keep banging in regards to the playoff game vs PIT had a lot more to do with the Steelers wrongly stacking the line with 9 men than it had to do with Tebow having an amazing performance. If it had been anyone other than DC **** LaBeau, they may have actually been fired for being so pathetically stupid.
At that point in the game where he hit Thomas in stride 15 yds down the field, he had about
225--230 yards and 1 TD; which was an amazing performance for him nonetheless. It was Thomas breaking free with a stiff arm and running 80 yds which gave him the overinflated stat of "316" yds and 2 TD's.
He effectively threw a few jump balls high to Thomas throughout the game, who towered over Ike Taylor and made some nice catches.
If Tebow's value was that high, he would not currently be going for a
5th round draft pick. He may be an effective weapon in the running game at times, maybe in some trick plays etc. Maybe he actually runs the option for a drive or two and carves his niche that way, but if he actually ends up doing it by way of starting QB, the rest of the world will be wrong and you will be right.
