You are forgetting that Tebow made Hernandez a star in Florida. They go way back and have a very solid connection. Tebow can throw to TEs, as long as they get open and are not JAGs.
I could throw to TE's that are open and who are not JAG's. So whats your point?

I would hope anyone could throw to an open TE who isn't a JAG.

I know Tom Brady sure as hell can, what happened to that guy anyways that we are talking about Tebow throwing to Hernandez?

I was replying to the post which claimed that, if Tebow was inserted in the game, it would automatically be a run or a option play. Not necessarily.

Yeah, I bet you could throw for 316 yards in a NFL playoff game against the #1 passing defence in the league. Not even in your dreams.

You have a really bad tendency of latching on to certain statistics that don't tell the whole story and then repeating them as if they do.

Yeah but do his 12 kids have to say?

I think he only has 7 or 8 kids. . . . although somebody pointed out via Twitter that during the first JEST game,

Via the Twittah! "Cromartie just tried to have his eighth child with Welker."

7, 8, 12 does it really matter? OK 8 that we know of.

:nono: You said "throw to a wide open TE who's not a JAG" not throw for 316 yards against the #1 rated defence. Time for you to go to bed kid.

Hopefully, this report is accurate, and the Pats aren't considering him. Boy, the Jets are REALLY fu--ing with Sanchez this offseason, aren't they? LOVE the quote that they believe Tebow could 'unite the locker room'. Love it. Love everything about it.

Report: Tebow headed to Jets or Jags

"The Denver Broncos are expected to trade quarterback Tim Tebow to either the New York Jets or Jacksonville Jaguars by midday Wednesday, Orlando's WKMG-TV reported, citing a source close to the NFL star.

The Denver Broncos reportedly are looking to part ways with the unconventional quarterback, having signed four-time MVP Peyton Manning.

The report says that while the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins also were believed to be interested in acquiring Tebow, the trade talks are exclusively down to the Jets and Jaguars.

Tebow was expected to be dealt for a third-round pick.

The widely popular 24-year-old hails from Jacksonville, but the source said he would prefer playing time over a return to his home town.

New Jaguars owner Shahid Khan finished negotiating with Tebow's representatives and the Broncos late Tuesday night, and the talks were expected to resume Wednesday morning.

The New York Post reported that the Jets had held serious internal discussions about trading for Tebow.

Tebow could give the Jets a new dimension at quarterback to complement starter Mark Sanchez. Tebow could run the wildcat formation, a favorite of head coach Rex Ryan and new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.

A Post source said the Jets also think Tebow could have a positive effect in repairing their dysfunctional locker room.

The move would give the Jets a huge surge of interest. Members of the Jets organization have noticed what Jeremy Lin has done with the Knicks, and Tebow in New York could be even bigger.

FOX Sports reported Monday the Broncos had been quietly shopping Tebow since the NFL Scouting Combine in late February, trying to gauge interest around the league as they prepared to make a run for Manning.

Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway denied Tuesday having held formal talks with any team about the Heisman Trophy winner.

According to a close friend of Tebow, he prefers his next destination to be in Florida, where he came to fame playing for the Gators.

"Brad and I just had dinner with Tim last week and I don't think this comes as a shock or surprise to him that Manning was actually going to go there," Monica Culpepper, the wife of former NFL and Florida Gators player Brad Culpepper, told 970 WFLA radio in Tampa on Tuesday.

"And in all honesty, Tim said, 'I miss home. I miss the South. And hopefully I'll land somewhere in Florida.' "

The Jaguars are seen as a natural fit for the Jacksonville native and former Gators star, but the team has two quarterbacks in veteran Chad Henne and last year's 10th overall pick, Blaine Gabbert.

But the acquisition of the 24-year-old Tebow would surely energize a franchise that has struggled with attendance in recent years.

Tebow led the Broncos on an improbable run to the AFC West title and a playoff victory last season, but he is also a quarterback whose throwing ability is still a work in progress.

316 passing yards in the playoffs against the #1 passing defence and the win, by essentially a rookie, would be hailed as an amazing performance for any other rookie QB not named Tebow. Any other would be hailed as a QB with a great future, that at least deserves a chance, only Tebow is thrown under the bus and the haters claim that he shouldnt even try to be a QB. That shows what clowns his haters are.

I was under the impression that it was 9 kids with 8 different women in 6 or 7 different states. That's the winning formula that I had memorized.

Then again, it's hard to try and keep up with such a variable. By now he could have had 2 or 3 more.

But he wasn't a rookie was he? The pitch and catch was a great football play by Tebow and Thomas and abject stupidity by the Steelers. You're not going to find many people who disagree with that 80 yards of excellence.

Kiddo let me enlighten you what was my previous point. The point was that Tebow had JAG TEs in Denver, and this was one of the reasons for this completion %. When Tebow had a reliable TE, in college, in Hernandez, he posted the highest passing rating in SEC history. That was the point, kiddo.

To be fair, I'm not sure that those who question Tebow's ability as an NFL QB are necessarily being 'haters.'

By all accounts, he failed miserably in many passing stats and real passing situations. This has been documented from day one, which was even before the draft where many had him projected as a different position altogether.

I honestly cannot think of one so-called 'expert' who currently views him as having a substantial NFL career as a starting QB. Has there been anyone at all who has felt that way?

Your stat drum that you keep banging in regards to the playoff game vs PIT had a lot more to do with the Steelers wrongly stacking the line with 9 men than it had to do with Tebow having an amazing performance. If it had been anyone other than DC **** LaBeau, they may have actually been fired for being so pathetically stupid.

At that point in the game where he hit Thomas in stride 15 yds down the field, he had about 225--230 yards and 1 TD; which was an amazing performance for him nonetheless. It was Thomas breaking free with a stiff arm and running 80 yds which gave him the overinflated stat of "316" yds and 2 TD's.

He effectively threw a few jump balls high to Thomas throughout the game, who towered over Ike Taylor and made some nice catches.

If Tebow's value was that high, he would not currently be going for a 5th round draft pick. He may be an effective weapon in the running game at times, maybe in some trick plays etc. Maybe he actually runs the option for a drive or two and carves his niche that way, but if he actually ends up doing it by way of starting QB, the rest of the world will be wrong and you will be right.

In all fairness, it's hard to compare the basic offense that is primarily used in college to an NFL caliber one.

What he did in Florida was great for a kid of his age. He has heart, and seems like the kind of guy who I'd want to know. He's respectful and polite, and likes to do charity work etc. Great guy.

But succeeding as an NFL QB is another thing altogether.

If we went by past college performances, we'd constantly be talking about JaMarcus Russell's incredible LSU journey, or even guys like Ryan Leaf etc. Look at Heisman winner Troy Smith at OSU in 2006, he was the premiere college QB and put up huge numbers with both legs and arm; but sadly his skills did not carry over to the higher quality of the NFL.

FWIW, supafly, have you ever watched Deal or No Deal?

The "price tag" on a player includes psychological factors.

It's an open secret that Elway doesn't like Tebow, and wants to get rid of him. That, in and of itself, drives down his value to the team.

Ditto with when a team has a glut of players at one position: it's hard to trade any of them when teams know they can just wait and have a good chance of getting one who gets cut without trading.

Not saying Tebow should be a first-rounder, but I don't think his "true" value is a 5, either.

I'm surprised at this post from you. You usually try to avoid being this ridiculously biased.

Yeah, even my dog doesn't recognize me anymore

I think that Tebow can have value to a team, but his banging the drum about beating the #1 passing defense with an incredible 316 yd performance is a bit biased too. He played well, and deserves to be applauded for a gutsy performance; but looking at his passing stats as a whole doesn't lead me to believe that would be a regular occurrence.

The whole debate stems from Tebow backing up Brady here in NE, which is a stretch in my opinion.

As any other opinion, I could be ridiculously off base and quite wrong. The whole Tebow situation is kind of a sticky debate in itself, probably one I should've stayed away from.
