Tiquan released; Ocho active?

Does screwed not imply it was unfair and doesn't it imply someone committed the screwing?

The timing is unfortunate. BB must have information tonight that he did not have a couple of days ago. I have suggested that it was what he learned about Gronk in the trainers room today about how many snaps he could give him. Another possibility is that someone became sick, although we have not heard anything about that. In BBs honest style, this new information and the need to create a roster spot for Silvestro was presented to Underwood, along with the team's continued interest in his services next year. He has already indicated as much in his tweets. Unfortunate, but understandable and handled like professionals all around.

Re: I don't like this one bit

there arent any nfl rules against him being on pats sideline in a jersey (in street clothes); ARE THERE?

Nope.

ND coach Charlie Weis and his son were on the Pats sideline in January 2007 for the week 17 game in the Meadowlands.

Guys, you gotta calm down. you HAVE to think silvestro will play tomorrow. underwood was going to be inactive. thats all there is to it. business man. we need the best 53. thats been our mantra for 11 years now

No.

I repeat my clear question - what report did you see that tells you this?

It's a very simple question.

1.) I didn't say that It was reported that the kid was screwed. I said that from what I've seen reported, the kid got screwed. That's 2 different things.

2.) I've seen the Reiss report. I've seen the Curran tweet. I've also heard it reported on the radio.

Well... this is awkward.

Underwood was not going to be active, clearly. The real question is what player is Silvestro replacing that would have been active and now won't play in the SB?
Probably feel worse for him.

Has Gronk been confirmed as active?

he could've been waiting on the final gronk word, or maybe pushing his waiver date past sunday in case the giants claimed him, I suppose.

I'm not sure I understand how the timing is unfortunate? Would it have been better for him to not get to go to Indy and help the team prepare? Remember that was all he was going to do anyway, because he wasn't going to be active.
His contract had 1 game left on it that he wasn't going to play in. I just don't understand what he lost. Is it really life changing that he was inactive and on the roster instead of inactive and off it?
I'm pretty sure the timing was that it was done when the decision was made, or if the decision was made earlier it was delayed in order to allow him to stick around until the last minute. I don't know what is unfortunate in that timing.

Acc to Mike Lombardi, Underwood will receive his full game check.

Someone here mentioned that Underwood is a Rutgers alum. Oddly enough, so is the guy that replaced him. Silvestro was an UDFA out of Rutgers.

More than 250 comments in four hours over Tiquan Underwood and another guy that caught 15 passes this year on the eve of the Super Bowl? I guess every other angle for the game has been beaten to death ...

Rumor has it that when BB did this because he felt Underwood's haircut was an insult to the biggest game of the year.

Good questoin. The only thing reported so far are:
-He was cut to make room for Silvestro
-It wasn't disciplinary and the team would like him back next year
-He wished his teammates good luck

Not sure where screwed fits in between those lines.

Well he's out $40-80K (although Mike Lombardi on NFLN just said he will get a game check). But then he's already made a couple of hundred grand this year as a patriot, while his DE teamate from Rutgers has only made $5700 a week as a PS player and one week's salary as a member of the 53 - and now he will collect a check for $40-80K.

Lombardi and Evans were both just on and they said it was a combination of making sure Ocho practiced well enough to be active and needing extra bodies on the DL for rotation purposes because of the anticipated heat and linemen wearing down in a dome in those conditions in the 4th quarter.

Mods should have a mercy locking rule for situations like this...:bricks:

Someone's gonna say it, but I hope it's not the case: Bad karma.

Nahhhh....claiming yourselves as Superbowl Champions on your official team web site the night before the game is bad karma. BB does what he does and in that I have confidence that it was what was best for the team.

Lets be clear.
Lombardi and Evans are SPECULATING what the reasons are. They don't know any better than we do.

Just put $2 down on ocho to win MVP..will make some $$ if he gets it :D
