Funnny quote from Tommy from Reiss' blog :

"Reche has a bunch of familiarity with those guys, I know he's friends with a lot of those guys, and they don't think too highly of us from what Reche says."

I guess he's working the motivational techniques already

Whether it is true or not, I hope that he spends the entire week talking about how much trash SD players are throwing this way.

It may take him a little while to get the playbook down, but he obviously learned quick where the guys' hotbutton is.

There has to be a certain revenge factor here, after the last two games we played vs San Diego.. Last year was horrible.

Part of it is the fact that they got their butts kicked, but part of it is some of the crap that SD has spewed. I know that Brady was pissed at a guy (Drayton something-or-other I think?) for purposely stepping on his throwing hand after a sack last year. Also, I'm sure that someone can dig up what the D Coordinator said after the game.

Also, I put it into another thread which subsequently died, but Seymour went out of his way on Monday to discuss SD's "probowl quarterback". I am 95% certain that he said it partially in recognition of their disapproval of Tommy's slight.

I have a good feeling that NE is going to bring their trademark intensity to this matchup.

And neither do their fans. Ohh well it will make victory even sweeter.

Of course there is always the fact that San Diego has like what 8 or 9 pro bowlers and new England had one. I really think there are a lot of Patriots players like Warren, Wilfork, Samuel, and Brady who are going to be even more motivated than normal. I am sure the disresepct card is being played to full advantage. I can't wait for the game.

That's funny, what did Seymour say?

They replayed Merriman picking the Jets in his halftime interview for Brady during Brady's weekly WEEI spot. The hosts laughed it off, but Brady didn't, although he did make some comment that sort of brushed it off without insulting Merriman.

Hey, we all know this team plays the disrespect card better than anyone. I just hate that Rodney probably won't be able to play, I know we are missing out on some good Rodney-feels-disrespected quotes

Nice, Reche bringing the info from behind the enemy's lines.

Well I am sure our team doesnt think too highly of the steroid abusing, idiotic freak named Shawne Merriman.

You know why the Bolts don't respect the Pats?

Because after thrashing the Pats last year Marty--in response to a question from YOUR media--admitted you guys probably had one injury too many to compete. That served two purposes--first of all it was simple honesty, and second of all it was to keep our players from being too proud of themselves. Then your QB decided to turn it into the slight of the century and whined to the media.

So you know what? Screw New England. The Chargers attitude is "we pushed you guys all over the field last year, we'll do it again." And that's the attitude SD has against everyone. If you think NE doesn't have the same attitude you're crazy. Any team worth its salt believes they're better than the opponent.

The fact that your players are working up the anger in response to meaningless crap goes to show they know they're going to need something extra to hang with the Chargers.

He was listing off the positive attributes and he mentioned their probowl QB. He could have named Rivers and said the QB, but he didn't. He specifically made reference to the fact that Rivers made the probowl.

I too think that NE is revving up the disrespect engines and they will be very intense this week.

How the hell do you know why they dont think highly of the Pats? Your not a player, not a coach, not an insider. You're a stupid fan boy who has no knowledge at all on what the Chargers' players think.

The Bolts don't respect the Patriots because they are simply young and foolish.

From what I see it's the Bolts who are spouting off, trying to pull a Joey Porter.

Joey Porter = Shawne Merriman? Bingo!!!!!

1. Last years Marty's comments about too many injuries.
2. Shawn Merriman at half time
3. Bolts opinion of Pats is low.

What have the Patriots said about the Bolts?

Lol...so I can't say the Bolts don't respect the Pats...but dozens of Pats fans can.

Okay...there's some logic for ya'.

This is what the Patriots do though. The players live off of this stuff, they have for years. They could be three TD favorites, and they would find a disrespect angle in it somewhere. Maybe it sounds ridiculous, but it's how some players find their edge.

And Brady's not stupid, he knows this (and so does Belichick, who I'm sure feeds Brady some of this stuff). Every word that comes out of his mouth, he thinks through to figure out it's impact. His comments about Marty making excuses for the Pats was just a way for Brady to tell the team to not even dare feel sorry for themselves, or think they can get away with using injuries as an excuse. He focused on team pride, sort of scoffing at Marty, because he knows how to focus this team and get them to feed off perceived slights.

Hey, it's worked so far

Course you can say that, but you seem to be sure that Brady's reaction to Marty's comments is the SOLE reason that the Chargers dont respect them.

Chargers players have nothing but the utmost respect for the Patriots. The Pats have what the Chargers want. And in order to get it, they have to take it from them.

That's the mentality you have to have to play this game. It's the only thing the Chargers players are focused on.

I think they'll get it done. :rocker: Reche and Tom can spin whatever tales they want. It won't mean the Chargers players will be any less focused or less motivated to win this game.

Yup the Chargers open disrespect of the Pats is just adding fuel to the fire. I won't be surprised to see a few Chargers on their backsides come Sunday! I really wish Rodney could play even for a few downs. I think he would really get fired up this game!

Here is what BB should hang on every locker.

PRO BOWL ROSTERS

San Diego-----------------------------------New England
Antonio Gates, SD---------------------------Richard Seymour, NE
LaDainian Tomlinson, SD
Lorenzo Neal, SD
Nick Hardwick, SD
Philip Rivers, SD
Jamal Williams, SD
Shawne Merriman, SD
Nate Kaeding, SD
Kassim Osgood, SD

All the motivation in the world.

Phillip Rivers? LOL

They also have a proved scum bag cheater, Merriman in the pro bowl.

Nate Kaeding looks like a baby too.

Show me. There are plenty of articles with quotes from Chargers players. Open disrespect means it's out there for all to see. So... go do your google thang and find me some proof of such blatant activity by the Chargers and their players.
