I am acquainted with someone who has close ties to many NFL coaches.
He says Rex and Rob Ryan are the greatest guys to hang out in a bar with. They are the center of attention, everyone has fun, and no one but them buys a beer.
The problem seems that Rex doesn't realize the cool guy in the bar isn't the persona that helps you succeed as an NFL HC.

Good analysis. I'll add more: Wrecks is the disturbed creation of an even more disturbed Svengali in Woody Johnson. Woody signed Wrecks not because he saw a team-building head coach, but because he saw a blustering carnival barker capable of fooling desperate fans into buying PSLs. Narcissistic Personality Disorder, persecution complex, codependency and blatant greed are the sick hallmarks of that wretched franchise from ownership down through the fan base. Sad, pathetic and frightening.

McDaniels wouldn't want to work with Li'l Marky, and Wrecks is firmly on record as saying Marky is his quarterback. But, Schottenheimer hasn't been fired yet.

I read that they are $7-8 million under the cap this year and that new rules allow for some of that number to be carried over next year as a credit, if you will.
