Aplogies if it seemed like I was bagging on anyone specifically, as that was certainly not the intent.

I am the king of mistake making, and I am sorry if it seemed like I was calling anyone out personally.

I was just surprised that the wrong info seemed to be spreading like wildfire, no harm intended.

Considering that the NY Jets have been running on luck for the past 2 seasons i wouldn't be suprised at all if they backed into the playoffs from their 9th seed.

They should be like 6-9 and done already.

Most unlikely playoff requirement for the Jets seems to be actually winning on Sunday.

I don't watch many of their games, but I did watch a bit last week. The "pound the rock" jets are running bootlegs on 1st and goal on the 1 with Sanchez (and he's fumbling these plays). Their ridiculous faith in their QB will end them with a loss on Sunday.

I wouldn't doubt it, unless the Texans lay down for the Titans.
Bengals have lost to every winning team they've played aside from Titans (ONLY if they beat the Texans to finish 9-7, and that would likely be a freebie).
AFCW games are so unpredictable, no suprise if one of the 2 games happen go their way.
Miami is tough but not the type of team you bank on, especially without Bush now and that loss last week to us had to have deflated that team.

FWIW, Andre Johnson is looking to play against the Titans. Could still mean others might rest while he gets back up to game speed, but who knows.

NY Times Fifth Down blog put the Jets' chances of making the playoffs at 9 percent a few days ago. Doesn't sound great, but ...

"The Jets overcame worse odds not that long ago. In December 2009, they were given an 8.2 percent chance of making the playoffs, and about a month later, they were leading in the third quarter of the A.F.C. title game in Indianapolis."

Personally, I feel their chances are higher than 9 percent; more like 30, especially with Bush out.

Letting T.J. Yates sit out this weekend might not be the best idea for the Texans

Besides they would be giving Tennessee a chance to get into the playoffs and might be facing them a week later if Oakland loses

I think some teams remember what the Bengals did to let the Jets in A few years ago only to see them get beat again the following week.

oops ... .I'm one of the folks who typed "Go Texans" when I meant "Go Titans."

I just did a quick review of NFL picks on major sites (slow day at work) and a lot of folks are saying the Texans will go all out to get into a playoff groove. OTOH, the ESPN Playoff machine shows that winning or losing doesn't change their position in any way; they're the #3 seed in all the scenarios I could think of. Gonna be a fun Sunday.

That's because, according to playoffstatus.com, they're locked into the #3 seed; there are 256 possible outcomes for the 8 AFC games this weekend, and NONE of them will change that fact.

Looks like Reggie Bush is out on Sunday. That is a huge blow to the Dolphins because I didn't see the Jets having a chance of stopping Bush because their defense is so slow and been killed by speedy backs all year.

There is now a decent shot of them backing in although they definitely could lose to the Dolphins who are probably a better team despite the records. Also, the Texans may tank the Titans game to get ready for the playoffs.

I guarantee you if the Jets do back into the playoffs, most Jets fans will act like the Jets are the team to beat even though they are 1-6 against teams with winning records and held their own destiny in their own hands two weeks ago only to blow it with two embarrassing losses to the NFC East.

Jets fans will have a right to do that. They've backed into the playoffs the last two years and have proceeded to get hot and get to the game before the Super Bowl each year. I don't think they have the team to do that this year, though.

Jets have a very good chance to win.

Good chance Baltimore beats Cincy.

Jets problems are with Tennessee having much more to play for than Houston; and Denver and Oakland having more to play for than their opponents.

Jet's really backed in 2 years ago playing two playoff teams at the end of the year with nothing to play for. But give credit -- they won 2 games with the chance.

No playoffs and Rex is in BIG trouble. His bluster thing only works when you win. Then you look confident. But big talking and losing just makes you look like an idiot.

IF the JETS get into the playoffs, and that's a BIG if, then I expect them to be an early out. It would be the icing on Rex's cake to see them get in, then get blown away in the first game and sent packing. Couldn't happen to a better crew. The meltdown on Joe Begnino's WFAN show would be biblical.

Imagine Joe's opening if the other teams co operate and the Juets lose, epic radio.

Always enjoy the pain of Jet's fans.
