Jimmy Graham is pretty awesome..

Bill Belichick had the likes of Richard Seymour, Tedy Bruschi, Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy/Rodney Harrison, Ted Johnson, and Mike Vrabel anchoring those defenses. The only players we have now on defense that can be mentioned in the same breath as them are Vince Wilfork and Jerod Mayo. We don't have the depth and leadership of the early 2000's Patriots. They can't play up to the level of the Homeland Defense just because you want them to. It's not a switch you turn on by sheer will. You either have the talent and experience, or you don't, and the Patriots obviously don't. This team will only go as far as its offense takes them.

and none of those players were household name before the superbowl.

You give brady and bill 2 weeks to prepare and they can beat anyone.

LOL keep in mind the defense is not 100% healthy yet.

Love the line up today

1Oclock Brady, 4Oclock Rodgers, 8Oclock Brees:cool3:

packers are winning the SB again...wayy too good compared to rest of the league

Most likely, but as we learned not too long ago, all it takes is one bad day to see it all come crashing down. No team in the history of the NFL was better in games 1 through 18 than the 2007 Patriots. But not when it mattered the most.

REMEMBER THE 14-0 colts? or 15-1 steelers?

Seymour was a rookie and Vrabel was a JAG signed from the Steelers, but everyone else? McGinest, Bruschi, Law, Milloy, Johnson all played for the '96 SB team and played together for the years leading up to '01. McGinest, Law, Milloy were Pro Bowlers before the 2001 season. Johnson never got those accolades but he was long regarded as one of the best run-stopping middle linebackers in the game. Bruschi was always a fierce competitor but didn't get the exposure until that season. They were a core of tough, accomplished, leaders.

The 2001 defense wasn't elite statistically, far from it. But this year's D can't touch that 2001 team's D. MAYBE if Cunningham weren't such a bust. Maybe if McCourty could consistently play up to his potential. Maybe if Chung could stay out of the trainer's room. Maybe if we didn't have to depend on our special teams gunner to start and play extensively at FS. But that's not what we're facing here. I believe Bill is trying to make the most out of a bad situation, but it's a bad situation nonetheless. You can teach the schemes but you need the personnel to execute the schemes.

Oh, I remember them. Statement still stands.

No team in the history of the NFL was better in games 1 through 18 than the 2007 Patriots.

Pherein, how has Brees played in cold weather?

Hes a boilermaker, all of his games in college where in cold weather or outside, when he set the win % record in college. I wouldn't underestimate how he plays in the cold. Our other guys are suspect.

Well that's good, they'll probably go to Lambeau agan.

lmao at the Saints lining up on megatron like he was a gunner.

Kevin Smith is kinda like the Robert Edwards story, great stuff

we will see, boys have a lot to do. This game needs to be won and not even close to over, and we need some luck, so does GB. Playoffs are hard. We will see, but we are doing ok.

nice throw, that was a friggin laser from Brees to Moore

we just gonna act like he wasn't offside?
edit: looked early live but it was bang bang when slowed down.

Saints definitely got away with one there, but the NFL officiating is definitely slanted towards the top tiered teams. There are a lot of new orleans, steelers and Packers fans flowing a lot of money into the NFL.

lol Garrett icing his own kicker has to be one of the dumbest coaching moves of the season

we think we might have got away with that call also, not a lot we can do about it. But Detroit is a 2nd half comeback team , so this is far from over.
