It doesn't matter how many big names the Patriots sign, or how many high draft picks the team uses... only later to cut those players.

The entire Patriots model is predicated on elite coaching that can develop players and make them better than they were when they joined. Their philosophy of collecting draft picks, trading down, gaining VALUE, as well as picking up vets cheap through trade or FA, only works if your coaching staff does its job once the players get here.

This model FAILS when your only good coach is Bill Belichick, and maybe perhaps Scar. The model FAILS when you have defensive and offensive coaches who do not have proven success prior to coming to the Patriots, who themselves need coaching from Belichick and are major works in progress.

This team has been in a downward spiral for years now and bb is the root of the problem. Team has no heart and no attitude, no wonder the team goes around walking on egg shells, you get in an argument and you get cut lol. The team will never have fire or the attitude to accomplish anything significant. Bb has won 3 sb's yes, but this is a what have you done for me lately league, and he's done nothing but bring the team down year after year. Coach needs to be replaced this off season with cowher, bring back that swag and fire this team desperately needs, with bb it's lost and not coming back.

Belichick's biggest mistake was not getting two brilliant DC and OC and add a GM on the team then wanting to do it practically all by himself

The best teams now have good fundamental sets of coaches....Matt Patricia and Boyer are as much complete garbage as the pukes from the street they are coaching,if we are going to put trash players in the secondary at least have a decent guy to coach them better.

Aside from Belichick and Scarnecchia,our coaching staff is an embarrassment to this league and it shows on the field now.

Been a diehard patsfan for more than 40 years. Its my experiences from the plunkett through Eason to Grogan years that makes me understand it could be another 40 years till we have a top 1 QB. Right on the money, I've shared this sentiment for awhile now.

Has anyone bothered to look at these schmucks we have on the coaching staff? Most of these guys were grad assistants at no-name no-success college programs before winning the lottery and joining the Patriots. None of them proved they had the ability to coach, develop, or make players better before they got here.

You can't simultaneously expect Belichick to coach up his players AND coach up his coaching staff too. Before the Patriots had an elite OC, DC which allowed the team to get away with trading down and get more value draft picks, or take risks on retreads or malcontents and get production out of those players.

I HIGHLY doubt Belichick is a power-hungry dictator saying he does not want a talented, experienced coaching staff around him. Get Belichick some help on the coaching staff, open the check book and pay just a little bit for some good coaches.
