I think its a certainty that the Winner of this game,Especially if its the Ravens, will be either the #1 or #2 AFC seed come playoff time and one of these teams will win their 6th game.

The Steelers of course have the tiebreaker over the Pats but when it comes to the playoffs,NE has had a history of beating the Steelers while the Ravens have been a thorn in the side of the Pats and have a better defense than the Steelers.

Which team would you rather see win this one?

I would go with Baltimore simply because Roethlisberger is having a pretty good season and has a very dangerous WR corps while Flacco is struggling,Pittsburgh could also be looking at no more than a Wild Card spot if they lose as Baltimore would sweep the division series,we need to at least get one of these teams out of the playoffs..

I can almost guarantee Cincinnati is nothing more than making a little noise right now and will fade quickly in december,so I didn't even mention them.

After watching the Ravens the last two weeks, I would rather they win because as of this moment they look a lot more beatable than the Steelers do. First that ugly loss to Jacksonville and then barely beating a very bad Arizona team at home last week as time expired; that doesn't exactly instill much fear in their team.

Of course much can, and probably will change between now and the end of the season - but that's how I feel right at this moment.

Although it would be fun to see a rematch btween NE and PIT in the playoffs I agree that knocking one team out is in our best interest. (not that this game decides that by any means, it just makes it that much tougher especially in a division that is looking pretty tough)

I strongly dislike Baltimore for a lot of reasons, but I think I'll root for them. I agree that the bungles will probably fizzle out but who knows? The AFC is a mess and I honestly don't think there are any sure things.(aside from saying Miami and Indy totally suck rig now and aren't winning much except for maybe the early bird special at the draft.)

At this point in time there are so many teams in the hunt for playoff spots in the AFC that betting the ranch on any one team may be a bad idea. Just look at the standings.

So again I'm rooting for Baltimore for the same reason I'm rooting for Buffalo. I want Buffalo to bury the jest a little bit, and then we can take care of the Bills come Jan. First. :D

Anyone but Pittsburgh. That's how I live my life.

I'm going to laugh when they sweep that division.

Re: OT: Steelers or Ravens - Which team winning would be more beneficial for the Pats

The Steelers have the edge on the Patriots and have a cupcake schedule after this game. Ordinarily, that would make me choose the Ravens. However, the Ravens also have a lot of cupcakes on the schedule, and they could be in competition with the Patriots for a wild card spot.

As a result, I'm going to go with the Steelers, but very tepidly. This is like a 50.1 to 49.9 sort of thing. I'm really going to root for the asteroid.

If things go ideally...

Steelers lose
Bills lose
Patriots win

Patriots are once again the #1 seed by late Sunday night and remain there for the rest of the season.

And the Jets are one win away next weekend against the Pats from a possible lead in the division

That was my reasoning in the Who (sic) To Root For thread.
But I do feel like a weenie worrying about wildcard nose outs because Pats wild card means the unthinkable.

That is a scary thought and would only give them more fuel for the remainder of the season......

I would be surprised if the Jets lose this weekend

I think the Jets win...and handily against the Bills
...I think the Pats win in a squeaker

Which would set up the big confrontation of a 6-2 Pats team against a 5-3 Jets team in the Meadowlands next weekend.

Well we can only hope for a jets loss this weekend so then we can crush them again next weekend. Really put them down.......

Re: OT: Steelers or Ravens - Which team winning would be more beneficial for the Pats

If both the Steelers and Pats run the table the rest of the regular season, the Steelers get the HFA. So, I'm rooting reluctantly for the Ravens.

I remember all too well the frustrating pursuit of the #1 seed in 2004 when the Steelers refused to lose down the stretch. Well, until the AFCCG that is. :D

JESTS

-Horrible team on the ROAD.
-Their Run D sucks
- How will they handle Fitz when the run is established easily?
-This is an awful match up for the NYJ's:singing:
- Sanchez isn't that good.
- where is the JESTS run game?
-O-Line is Blah minus their C

I see Buffalo winning this game:cool:
Their D is respectable
A good O-Line
A really good backfield of RB's
Fitz>Sanchez by a wide margin.
A Good TE... Stevie Johnson at WR is really good.
-Will dominate on the ground and eat up time...
this ground game will open up the passing game.
Buffalo has a solid chance to move the ball at will vs the NYJ's and ultimately win :)

I'd rather see the Stillers win. Even though they just beat us I think we'll have a better shot of beating them in the playoffs than the Ravens. Ravens have always been really really really tough team for us to win against. Most of the last games vs. the Ravens have been really close except for the one playoff game in '09. Go Pats!

You do realize we have lost once to the Ravens since they moved to Baltimore 16 years ago, right?

Re: OT: Steelers or Ravens - Which team winning would be more beneficial for the Pats

We're definitely pulling for Baltimore here. And the Bengals are a fraud...an average team w/ 1 quality win, still yet to even play the Ravens or Steelers. They'll fade like previously noted.

Yeah, that's not happening. Buffalo runs the ball, and the Jets dont stop the run. Throw in their respective home and road records, and this is a Buffalo win waiting to happen. Too much turnover and nonsense w/ the Jets this year.

Re: OT: Steelers or Ravens - Which team winning would be more beneficial for the Pats

Rooting for the Murderers (allegedly) v. the Stealers is akin to rooting for Iraq v. Iran.
You wish that both sides would destroy each other simultaneously, but knowing that would not happen, you hold your nose & root for the lesser of 2 very, very evil organizations.
Besides, the Squealers own the tiebreaker over us, so they have to lose some more games to make up the difference.

Re: OT: Steelers or Ravens - Which team winning would be more beneficial for the Pats

Separating contenders from pretenders couldn't happen soon enough, especially if those slinking out of the picture are the Jets and the Ravens.

Rex and the Jets have proven two years in a row that they cannot seal the deal and we hate them, so, Sayonara, baby. Use that rushing game to pound 'em, Bills!

Another crack at the Steelers in the playoffs to return the favor would be great, so handing the Ravens a big loss to edge them closer to the abyss is what we need. Adios, Charm City!

It's getting so that this year's playoffs will be for the revenge bowl with all the subplots between these teams. I hope the Pats serve up a can of revenge whup-ass this afternoon, that's for sure.
