LOL, this is the first thread or article I have ever read that says "feud". I'll admit I'm a little concerned but feud ???

I am sure, after reading the ridiculous insensitive comments from some about Mrs Kraft, that these negative posters would also eat their young.

Myra Kraft happens to be one classy lady and anyone that cares to expend just a little time finding out why I say that, would come to the same conclusion.

Can we please give some credit where credit is due? The Kraft's deserve all the accolades in the world for not only saving this franchise, but also for their tremendous contribution they make in giving back much to those less fortunate.

Re: The " so called Belichick and Kraft feud is becoming somewhat alarming

Just some speculation, but it's easy to imagine that Kraft might be trying to hold the line on salaries, even if only to make a point to the other owners that the salary cap did not need to be increased quite so much. As long as they are not spending to the cap, this remains a possibility, and would naturally be a frustration to Belichick, who is competing with other coaches who are spending to the cap.
finally a voice of reason on this topic - one would wonder why the cap was not reached this year

This thread is fascinating.

Just reading how an unsubstantiated rumor out of New York can joyfully free some of the posters here to unleash their pent up insecurities against a woman.

It has not been proven that Myra Kraft has done ANYTHING in this instance, yet it's the 4th of July for some folks to unleash.

Possibly because they had set money aside for Branch and Law, neither of whom we have this year? After we didn't get Law and Branch babied his way out of here, are we supposed to spend the remaining money just to spend it? I believe they were also talking with Samuel and Graham about extensions? I dont think anyone in the patriots organization intentionally refused to spend to the cap, but sometimes when you spend wisely, you don't get a chance to spend it all.

I suppose it could be possible that BB wanted to pay Deion Branch and Kraft wouldn't and that caused friction, but that's a big time reach.

......
Myra Kraft blows the guy who signs the checks, so she actually HAS INFLUENCE!
.....

You are one vulgar sick dude! Use your gutter thoughts elsewhere.
Why is this stuff tolerated?

Why is that a "big time reach"? Did they have the money? Could they have signed Branch? What were they saving the money for? Why not spend the money? Whose money was it?

Come on, Kraft is married and old. The odds of him getting one of those is probably 1,000,000 to 1.

thomas144 has never been the voice of reason on anything here.

Of course none of us know what's really going on at Foxboro but every indication has always been that the salary structure is at least as much the desire of Belichick and Pioli as it is of the Krafts. There is no reason whatsoever to believe that Kraft has refused to spend money that Belichick and Pioli wanted him to.

I say reach because I can't imagine Kraft standing in the way of BB and his desire to sign a player.

Re: The " so called Belichick and Kraft feud is becoming somewhat alarming

I always find it hilarious that some posters here call Kraft "cheap".

The guy gave up billions to say no to Hartford and keep the team in Foxboro.

Did you read Vinny T's interview the week after he was picked up by the Pats. He couldn't believe that the team fed them three meals a day. He gushed about the LOBSTER RAVIOLI fer cryin' out loud. This is a guy who has been around several NFL teams over 20 years and he couldn't believe what the ownership here does for its players.

Did you read Corey Dillon saying the very same thing two years ago (his favorite were the Alaskan King Crab legs).

Ever see the SB Rings? Ever wonder why practically EVERYBODY in the Foxboro phone code gets one? Do you think someone like Fred Kirsch would be walking around with 3 if he worked for any other team?

Does a "cheap" owner do these things?

Anyone who was a fan before the moment Vinatieri's FG cleared the uprights in New Orleans knows how Kraft's emotional OVERSPENDING on his players was the downfall of the team in the late 1990's.

Get a brain folks. BB-Pioli-Mula, etc. make all the financial player decisions.

Every indication? What indications? They have money unspent. They are not spending to the cap. They lost their two starting wide receivers, and Adam Vinatieri. What possible motivation would Belichick and Pioli have for not spending to the cap? It's not their money - it's Myra Kraft's money.

Small potatoes. You can buy a lot of Lobster Ravioli with their unspent cap money.

Re: The " so called Belichick and Kraft feud is becoming somewhat alarming

Every indication? What indications?
All the various articles and books that have been written on the Belichick/Pioli philosophy on not overpaying players. There is every indication that moreso than the Krafts not wanting to write the check that Belichick and Pioli don't want to blow the cap numbers out of the water. Not proof, but indications.

Gee, I guess they are the only NFL team that hasn't spent right up to the cap.

OK, then, what about Hartford?

And why do jaded veterans like Testaverde and Dillon sound like kids at Disneyworld when they talk about how ownership here takes care of the players?

Tell us exactly what you would have done with the money that would NOT have gone against what Belichick and the pats are all about the last 5 years... Don't avoid this either. Tell me exactly who you would have signed, where you would spend the money etc...

You can't say on Branch because BB does not rip up player's rookie contracts (unless you are seymour and get a 1 year raise in which they actually had negotiations, whereas branch never counter offered anything and tried to call all the shots, holding out till week 10 etc...).

One year the pats didn't get everything they wanted and therefore have extra money so it has to be the Krafts refusing to spend

They spend WISELY, and when you do that eventually there will come a time where there isn't any options left to spend the money on wisely.

I think that spreading the rumor about Myra is nasty and low class.

BUT

If you think that BB's situation has no impact on the team and his standing then you are kidding yourselves.

BB MAY have brought himself and the team into disrepute with this incident. If there is nothing to BB's involvement and the husband is just trying to throw stones to better his position in the divorce, then BB is a victim and no harm no foul to the Pats, and BB can sue for defamation or slander or something.

If however BB IS involved he may no longer have a job, and it will have nothing to do with Myra. Bob Kraft can't keep the kind of team he has built together if his HC is a publicly acknowledged adulterer/home-wrecker. The situation is less clear cut if BB is involved but to a lesser extent.

The reason is because the Pats have standards of conduct for their players. They do not allow them to behave off the field the way they do in other cities. If the HC is behaving in a manner that is immoral and brings disrepute to the team and gets away with it, the team and the HC will be unable to demand that the players keep their lives in order.

The pot can't call the kettle black, and not expect to get laughed out of the room. If the players lose respect for BB and think its unfair to impose standards on them that the HC himself is able to breach, you have lost your credibility and your team.

It will also be a perfect grievance for the Players Union to say that they are holding young, black (mostly), poor rookies to a standard that the HC has violated, if they end up disciplining anyone for off field behavior. That would then open up the personal lives of the other execs to scrutiny - journos looking to see if its a pattern of hypocrisy with the club, do as I say and not as I do.

OH yeah, if he is involved, its a big deal for BB's future, and the blame will be his alone.
