NE trades a 2013 7th round pick to the Broncos for Tebow, who will be in a TE/FB role, and Garrett Mills will be released

I'd rather we pick up Ben Brady as a developmental QB. Gives him a few years without the pressure of having him be ready right now. If we move now, this kid will be Mallet's replacement after his 10 year, 3 ring reign.

Just saying.

wait, how can you even tell when there is going to be a live event at patriots.com, aside from PFW in progress. I didn't know there was live video buried somewhere. I just watch the archives.

Tebow is a gimmick. It's pretty much proven at this point he can't play QB at the NFL level. What else does he have to offer of consistent value?

No, it's not.

And I don't buy this whole 4-3, 3-4 crap. I'm sure many players can excel in both systems if taught properly. Look at what our guys are having to do this year.

I agree. Analysts love to throw out **** and make predictions about schemes and players. FACT is though... we don't know until he is put into that situation.
I thought a 4-3 would be great for any speedy LB on the edge? Analyst's categorize players to a scheme based on measurements and so starts the Labeling process. I don't buy the scheme argument for LB's.

Linemen like Albert that were 4-3 DE studs and forced to play NT in a 3-4 is way different situation though

Sources close to front office brass, with ties to team officials are hearing whispers from some:

Troy Brown is coming back to play safety/corner/WR/wildcat QB/WR coach/Holder/Longsnapper. He will also do sideline reporting for both the network and radio broadcasts.

Tim Tebow switched to the offensive line?

Adam Seward is currently on a flight heading to Foxboro with Patriots team owner Robert Kraft, starting quarterback Tom Brady, linebacker Jerod Mayo and nose tackle Vince Wilfork, after being persuaded to come back to the NFL and join the team, reports the Boston Herald's John Tomase. A press conference is expected to be held later in the day.

Tebow may be the most polarizing figure in the NFL, simultaneously overrated and underrated. He may not ever be a capable starting QB in the league, but he accounted for 11 TDs and very few turnovers last year. If you look at those numbers outside the prism of a QB, that's quite good, especially as a rookie. Denver used him as a sort of redzone wildcat option last year, and I think he could be useful in that role to a team with serious redzone issues. Problem is, there aren't a lot of QBs humble enough to come out of the game at its most crucial moment.

That all being said, I totally agree he's a gimmick and has zero use to this team. Man, how much of a disaster was Josh in Denver?

Polarizing is the best term I've heard to describe what Tebow brings to the table...

CBS Sports analysts cool on Tim Tebow's NFL chances

JAG signing/cut incoming in 3, 2, 1...

A lot.
-Traded up for Tebow.
-Gave up a 1st round pick to select Alphanso Smith in the 2nd round. He was later traded a year later for a low round draft pick.
-Selected Robert Ayers in the 1st round. 34OLB. Has 2 sacks in 2 years.
-Selected Maerno (sp?) in the 1st round. Disappointing.
-Selected a Blocking TE with the last pick in the 2nd round. Rookie year-IR, 2nd year-waived-injury.
-Traded away Peyton Hilis.

Soo..yeah....When he gets another HC gig, I hope they do not give him the GM gig. No idea why the Broncos owner gave a rookie HC so much power.

McDaniels was a disaster there, absolutely HORRIBLE as a GM, that said I think the guy is a top notch QB coach. Tebow could be a nasty FB/TE hybrid, I wonder if he'd be open to a deal where BB plays him as a TE/FB for a year and then agrees to groom him as a QB after Hoyer is traded away.

Not as much as some people would like to think.

Seriously, though, I think Scott Pioli should have just embraced the whole Patriots Midwest thing and gotten McDaniels as his HC instead of Haley.

I thought that would happen as well, I thought Pioli was going to hire both McDaniels and Cassell, that would have been interesting.
