Haynesworth & Ellis @ Practice

As Belichick says every year... "we have a different team this year"....whether than translates into a better team or worse will be decided as time goes on.

It's easy to go back and say last year our defense kind of sucked (at least in rankings)and we still went 14-2...while that is a fact it still does not mean we will go 15-1 or 16-0

The team last year was aided on many an occasion by the turnover ratio which was incredible....it would be great to duplicate that but it will be tough.

But it doesn't mean we won't.....and that's where the fun and irrational fan part comes in! If thats not your thing....fine.....but don't come down on those who choose to embrace the team that way.

cleaned it up for ya...bullzhit gets a pass...what the hell is astoudious??

Yuo'er mI Faverit pOstah Johlwker!! (Thanx bro). PS- I should have gone with "assiduous".

I think it's fair to say that the there are more "higher-level" talented player that have to perform this preseason to make this team then there was in 2007 (or most other years). You may see a better record this preseason for that reason alone.... It doesn't mean all that much in the scheme of things, but it does tend to show you a little more of what you have.

I think it's pretty fair to say that the rest of the NFL is going to feast pretty heavily on our cuts in a couple weeks. That's cuz we're gonna probably cut guys that could be starters for some teams.

Good thing it's essentially a "contract year" for Albert then. If he fails here, he done. He knows it. I don't think he wants to be done.

I don't know. He sure seemed like he didnt care last year.

People said the exact same thing about Moss. Said he was done. He certainly quit in Oakland his last year. How'd that work out for us? Players are weird man. I can't understand it, but some of these elite guys have a history of sucking ass in one place, and then being out of control good when they get here. It's not unreasonable to think that might happen with AH. He might just continue his Redskins ways here, but history is on our side here.
Its not unreasonable to think he could fly right, give effort and be a good player. It is unreasonable to conclude he will before he steps on a field. You are saying I am wrong to say after his issues I'm not going to believe it til I see it by explaining how it could possibly happen. You have actually taken my side here.

You really misrepresented what I was saying there. You did it to suit your argument, but that doesn't make it right, and its not accurate. I really did not say that. I was making a point about potential.
Well you jumped in to an ongoing discussion with started with the implication that he will be so dominant no one can stop him, and the debate that followed was from me saying lets see him lay a finger on a QB before we conclude he can do it at will.
If you are talking about potential and that there is a possibility he may be effective, then you are arguing with the wrong guy, you should go take it up with those that are pretty much guaranteeing it.

Look, we can both probably agree that AH, when he is motivated, in shape, and playing hard is certainly a top-5 DT in the NFL..... I think that's fair to say, right?.
He was. Who knows how much damage has been done though? And its not an afterthought that he is motivated, in shape and playing hard, in fact its been the exception not the rule during his career.

I certainly hope that we can agree that VW is more like a top-3 DT in the NFL. Yeah, I get the X's and O's don't exactly fit with the systems they come from, but still, in generalities it's pretty accurate.
Wilfork is a stud.

As a fan, the thought of having two of the best DT in the league being available in a base defense gives me a little bit of a chubby. Sorry, it does. I'm not sure there is much of a president of that happening in the past.
Sure, many teams have had great DT duos.
But again, I don't know how we consider Haynesworth a great DT before we see him in good enough shape to participate in practice, recognize whether he has any commitment or is just out there collecting a check like he was last year and see him do somethng on the field. It appears that we have just decided that the guy with the biggest character issue in the NFL (as far as caring about what he contributes to his team) is suddenly fixed and a great team player because while he is sitting out practice his position coach say he is doing well in the classroom.
I'm not trying to destroy the guy but the starting point is he is a train wreck above the shoulders, so I cant just ignore that and give him a Bradyesque attitude.

You can certainly work the x's and o's out better then me, but the thought of is pretty god damn exciting
Yes it could be.

It certainly goes without saying that may not happen. AH might pull "lay, lady, lay" on us, or god forbid, the injury-bug jumps in..... We all know that. It's about the possibility. It's like lining up Fitzgerald, Welker and Andre Johnson up as your wide-outs and saying..... "let's not get too excited boys, they haven't played a down yet". People would look at you like you were crazy.
Thats because Fitzgerald and Johnson haven't gone out on the field and given a crap effort. Haynesworth stole his paychecks from the Redskins. You can't just sweep that under the carpet because if he plays like he did in 2008 it would improve our defense.

I am hopeful that BB will deturdify him, but it is disingenuos to pretend he has shown any commitment to his job, team, teammates or winning.

Please name the guys you think we will cut who would start for other teams.
I think we have more depth, by far, than any other team, but I still find that comment illinformed and Jetfanlike.

In closing, I like all you douches....Good Night!!!

hey wait a minute..I'm a douche NOZZLE...I'm special:woohoo:

He probably has a Maroney condom too. They were very common as the team wanted to make sure he didn't reproduce.

I'll start (and probably end cuz I don't have all night to argue the point) at receiver.

Tate or Price........ There is a good chance one gets cut. Both certainly have the talent and skills to develop into starters (perhaps not this year, but with injuries, ya never know). I've seen some teams start worse guys.

Are they going to walk onto a team right now and be 1 or 2?.... no, not at all. But you know how injuries are. I could see a team like Buffalo (who had 1 starting WR go down tonight), picking up a Price (if he got cut) and developing into a guy that see significant time in their system by years end.

Tate and Price are as good as the Raiders receivers Jacoby Ford and their fifth rounder out of Tennessee Denarius Moore or whatever his name is. Heyward-Bey is really bad and Louis Murphy is crappy and hurt.

....."you talkin' to me?"

I'm not blasting anything.
How is it blasting to say we should wait for Haynesworth to play a down for us before saying he will be the most dominant force to ever exist?
How is saying one good game doesn't mean we will dominate every one, every time, especially when that one game is preseason? How is that blasting?

Not to nit-pick, but it's actually been 2 dominant games.

Not to nitpick further, but it's 2 dominant preseason games. It's interesting and fun to watch. But hard to conclude much about where it leads until the results start to count.

Having said that, it's pretty damned intriguing.

I remember the Pats being totally dominated by the Bengals AND the Jagwads in pre-season. The Pats went on to have a fantastic season. 2004 SB year.

Preseason score or dominance means very little.

2008 Detriot Lions
Preseason 4-0
Regular Season 0-16
