AHHH the perfect way to cap this crappy draft, ANOTHER CORNERBACK!!!!!!!

As I said, another WTF? pick. . . .

So there won't be any UDFA this year, even if the CBA gets done?

Charlie Casserly is such an arse. Trying to make there is a QB controversy between Brady and Mallett and making up crap that Brady is peissed and Belichick was needling Brady that Mallet will come in to compete. Really?!? The Pats just made Brady the highest paid player.

Nooo. Why not Herzlich? The guy has heart. Why a DB???

For better or for worse, he might have heart, but his most likely position on this team is already very full.

Maybe McGinest who worked a little with Herzlich, pulled BB aside and said the kid is not pro ready?

The weakness with the Carter pick is that he has essentially no chance to make the team next year and will need to be cut. Hopefully he makes it to the practice squad, but as you know, teams like to claim draft picks cut by the Pats. Herzlich/Romules can be stashed on PUP/IR and redshirted until 2012. If he regains form, you have a steal.

Why would Herzlich be stashed on PUP? He played last year for BC. Granted he was a step slow, but he would be playing if he was drafted.

Also, Carter definitely has a chance to make the team. Right now one of Murrell and Moore are the 4th OLB. I'd even go out on a limb to say that I'd expect him to make the team over both of them. He'll only have trouble making the team if they bring in a one or two free agents (which I expect them to bring at least one in).

special teamer, methinks

And the DB position is looking for anyone at this point? :bricks:

Oh well, another throw away pick. I give the Pats an A- for the draft. Top five picks were good and fit needs, then they decided to waste the final few picks. Would have been nice to use the last two picks on risky players with high reward potential (Herzlich, et al) instead of camp fodder.

Damn, BB is drinking the Horned Frog cool aid this year.

My belief is that no one on this site has much of an idea about technique, size specifications on draft prospects, which is why I say draft him and play him at his natural position. He played OLB in college, let him play that in the pros.

I know a number of posters who would be insulted by that.

Anyway the discussion is moot, unless he walks on as a UDFA.

Heh! According to the NFL.com draft tracker, our last two picks have no height/weight or grading. Even the NFL knows nothing about them.

And we have tons of openings at CB, RB, and QB.
