Yeah, that'd be beyond dumb. We have arguably the greatest QB of all time under center; a little more balance between running and passing might be okay, but turning the Patriots into a running team would be detrimental to their success.

You need to make a choice.

-Have Brady put up 4k yards in 500 attempts, 30+ TDs for 2 more years

or....

-Have Brady put up 3k yards in 400 att, 20 TDs for 4-5 more years

You can't have both.

See Denver Broncos 1997-1998. There is nothing wrong with a HoF QB at the end of his career handing the ball off 35 times a game and winning a SB MVP at 38 years old.

Let's stop the BS right now. Unless you would rather not post on this thread.

You know what I'm taking about.

So in a "defensive draft" the patriots went.

OL
CB
RB
RB
QB
OL
TE

Lol... this is crazy... But i Love how they sured up the O-line for years and the running backs...

My favorite pick so far is Dowling... guy looks like cromartie

2012 will DEFINATELY be a DEFENSE draft 2 #'1, 2 #2'

I wonder if he can long snap and hold at the same time. Save us a roster spot so we can pick up another 3rd round back. We could use another one of those.

When is our next pick?

I proposed this earlier after we took Ridley as a gunner, but Stl ruined it by taking Austin Pettis, who was the top holder on my board.
I don't get it....ridley the gunner?...isn't stevan riddley a bruising up the gut RB out of LSU?

You sure about that? Pats won Superbowls when their main weapon was the run. Names like Antowain Smith and Corey Dillon ring a bell?

Pats scored prodigious amounts of Points through the Air in 2007 and 2010, yet had zero Superbowl trophies as a result of it.

Pats draft focus this year is clear - Get Big and Nasty on Offense. Pound the football in 2011. An effective running game will also make the Play Action that much more effective for Tom Brady.

I'm 100% sure about that. Brady wasn't in 01, 03, 04 what he is today. Taking the ball out of his hands for more than half of the snaps isn't the smart thing to do. We just need to be able to run when running is required, something we failed to accomplish in recent years.

Every year I am amazed at the disgruntled fans here. First of all none of us knows what the blueprint is for the coming season. We don't know who they have targeted when free agency gets here. We only know what we saw last year. I trust Bill and his crew ... I am 100% certain I could not do a better job.

It's clear now BB was offended by all those who said his defense needed to improve.

BB doesn't give a rat's tail less what anyone outside of the corridors at Gillette says about his defense. He drafts where he feels he gets the most value for his team.

Still no Romeus. his injury must be worse than thought if teams haven't been prepared to take a risk on potential first round value so far.

Bruins are FWIW.......

Is Smith a long snapper? If he can, cause they were very bad last year, even after they dumped Ingram (I thought that the Zoltan did a fantastic job of getting the snaps down), then I like this pick blocking TE and a long snapper ..

KREJICI!!!!!!!!!!

He's also not as durable as he once was either. Time moves on for everyone Cinderella. Brady's durability needs to be tended to a bit in these next couple years. A better run game does that.

There are still 4 OLB's on my list to take. Herzlich, Beal, Matthew (SC), and Romeus.

i have to admit i thought we should have taken someone at DL and-or at OLB in the first 5 rounds

plus save some wear and tear on his arm. Pats are going about the right way here to take a flier on R.M. Better us than have him goto Colts and become understudy under Goober Senior.
