I don't feel any envy of "coulda shoulda" with the Pats. Yes, the Pats could have beaten the Packs, but vice versa, the Packs could have done to us what the Jets did. All meaningless hypothetical speculation. Shouldn't the Pats have rolled over the Jets?

But I like the Packers for being a versatile well-rounded team. The way they beat the Eagles, Falcons, Bears - all on the road, and now the Steelers showed their versatility. High scoring, low scoring, defensive battle, special team... they found a way to win. They faced Vick, Ryan, Urlacher/Peppers, Big Ben and Steelers defense.

That's what I want for the Pats. Not over relying on a high power (nearly one-dimensional) offense. The 2003 or 2004 Pats (I'm too lazy to look up) beat 10 teams, each with 10 wins or more. They won in a variety of ways, this is what versatility is about.

Congrats the Packs, they deserve it.

The Packer fans got screwed badly by the team management. They should have forced Favre out a lot earlier.

Lol let's calm down before we get all wet over him. Last year Peyton was going to be the GOAT what happened pick 6! They wanted to crown Rapelisburger in Brady's class and he lost let's see a few more playoff games from Rodgers first. He had a great playoff run and congrats to the packers.

I hope I am wrong but I think the Packers will be next dynasty in the NFL. They have arguable the best defense. Rodgers is awsome and will only get better IMO. Plus they had like 15 guys on IR including J. Finley who is a beast. Scary team.

I believe even if we got to this game, we would have lost. Rodgers would have tourched our defense, and their defense would have found a way to slow down Brady. I would have love to see it, but it could have been more heartbreak for us.

More kneejerk reaction. It's a lot harder to become a dynasty than some seem to comprehend... There is an old adage that goes the only thing harder than getting to the top is staying there... One thing this team has done that other dynasties didn't even manage to do is remain competitive throughout. Only time we missed the playoffs was in 2002 when the cinderella team was in transition to a real one and when Brady went down in week 1 (and even then we won 11 games). Talk to me about dynasties when you've won multiple SB's in close succession while being legit contenders perennially. Pittsburgh almost made it into that kind of discussion this year, even though when they are bad they are aweful. Indy is seldom aweful but they have yet to string 2 SB wins close together. Everyone was ready to proclaim the Rams a dynasty heading into their second SB in as many seasons. How'd that work out?

As for Rogers, he is a prolific passer which in addition to winning and certainly absent a lot of it is sort of a prerequisite to being truly elite, but he's had his struggles not to mention his concussions. Let's see how he deals with the SB curse and the next couple of seasons before his bust is carved. It takes a little luck and a lot of mental toughness and intestinal fortitude in the face of mounting expectations as well as the drive to remain focused after you've arrived and are getting fawned over plus in this era the kind of hunger and humility that compels you to always strive to get better lest the league and the odds catch up to you. Prove you can do that all that and then any dynasty discussion can begin...

What I thought was really interesting about this game was how the game was sort of a microcosm of the Packer's season. Early success --> key injuries --> adversity, being on the brink of failure --> overcoming that adversity. It will make for a good video when NFL films gets their hands on it.

Wow... forgot about that one... a couple thoughts:

1) I couldn't have been more wrong putting the Cowboys and Vikings in the top 10.
2) I definitely underestimated the Patriots (FWIW I didn't edit the prediction before posting it on this board). I thought Brady was past his prime (congrats to Tom on the MVP) and the defense was going to be soft. They ended up being the most dangerous team in the AFC, but as you guys know too well, that often doesn't matter much in division rivalries.
3) The Packer team I was talking about then was quite a bit different than the team that I watched today. I imagined a high-powered offense with Ryan Grant at RB and Jermichael Finley at TE that would be the centerpieces of the offense led by Rodgers. I never imagined that they would take the path they did, with their season on the brink of collapse after back to back losses to the Lions and Patriots in weeks 14-15, winning 3 road playoff games as the 6 seed and winning the Superbowl without Driver or Woodson on the field.

This team has had every reason to rightfully claim every excuse in the book. Many Packer fans already went down that road way back in September/October by writing off the season as a "throw-away" with all the injuries and close losses they had early in the season. But the team never made any excuses and had no regrets, and instead the guys that were next in line stepped up and played with the expectation that they were to perform to the level of a starter. And it applied all the way into today's game when team leaders in Woodson and Driver both came out of the game due to injury. When that happened, they knew exactly how to handle it.
