The Worst Defense in the History of the World...

Depends. Last week the Patriots defense was a joke, this week it played very well. Last week the Jets defense played very well, today it was terrible. I would go with the Jets defense based on experience in the playoffs, and veterans that have been there.
So in light of form and performance against quality opponents you still pick the Jets on 2009 form knowing they aren't as good and the Patriots are wiping the floor with everyone not lead by a Flynn. Perhaps what is funnier is you question why we know you're a Jets troll now.....

Pleasure doing business with you The Dynasty. Thanks for actually typing your true colors for all to see.

It was about you harping on the fact that with no evidence you said the defense wasnt good enough to win if the offense had a bad day.
You still owe me an apology for calling me a liar because you still have not shown where i said either defense was better than the other.
Man up admit that, or shut up.

Dude, I gave you the quote where you said the Jets defense was better than the Pats. Whether or not you meant it or not, thats in question now. The defense has not shown that they are good enough to win if they are not given a double digit lead to work with. We have gone over this time and time again.

So, was he an imposter too? Do you realize that when you discuss the Patriots, you dismiss everything good and pretend you are left with an argument? We kill the Jets, it wasn't really the Jets. Today it wasnt the Patriots it was Fitzpatrick playing bad, nothing to do with the D. You do realize the Bills won 4 of their last 6 before today, and were at home right?

The Bills are not very good, you are trying to play them up like they are a good team. Be real here, who have the Bills beaten? Lions, Bengals, Browns, Dolphins. None of which are going to the playoffs. While it was a very good performance today, dont over react and call it a win against a good team.

I will ask again, what defense can you trust? What defense is playing better? I mean they all are in your eyes because when we win a close game we sucked and when we win big we sucked but got lucky because the other team had a bad day
.

The Steelers and Ravens defenses I think you can trust more than the Patriots. What you do in the regular season means nothing when it comes to the playoffs, I thought Patriots fans learned this in 2007.

The Jets had a chance to take control of the #1 seed, the division and the conference and allowed 45 points.
Then they had the chance to clinch a playoff berth and allowed 38.
Exactly what experience do you find positive?
What about Belichicks experience vs Ryans experience? Doesnt matter?
Those 2 games last year mean an awful lot to you.

No it isnt. It is a bad thing to say a 45-3 win doesnt mean anything because it was the real Jets team.

I never said it didnt mean anything, I said it was the best game the Patriots played all season. What I said was the 45-3 score was not an accurate picture of how much better then Patriots are than the Jets.

if i had my choice of ANY defense in the league this year...im not so sure i wouldn't pick the patriots...

I didnt know it was such a crime on here to critique the Patriots and give the Jets credit when it was due. It is called being an objective and reasonable fan, not just praising the Patriots with everything they do.

You haven't been objective nor have you been reasonable. You've been diabolical, misinformed and downright stupid.

No you did not. You found a quote where I discussed an aspect of the Pats defense that was performing better, and you know that.

And you have been wrong time and time again, and now have resorted to calling me a liar because I didnt say what you made up that I said.

I didnt. I called it a game, You dismissed it.
Would you like to talk about games against quality opponents only? Ok, guess what the Pats outshine everyone else, including your beloved Jets there too.

What did the Ravens defense do against the Bills team that sucks? Or how about Houston? Atlanta?
You are saying that even though the Patriots havent blown leads, they will, and even though the Ravens have, they wont. Nice thinking.
The 2007 Patriots won both AFC playoff games and were 1 minute from winning the SB.
If what you do in the regular season has nothing to do with the playoffs then why are you talking about what the Patriots did in the regular season and saying you don't trust them in the playoffs? You are contradicting yourself.

The coaches do not play in the game, preparation can only go so far. Actual experience is far more important. And the regular season means nothing when it comes to what will happen in the playoffs, the Jets last year and then the '07 Patriots are good examples of this, I thought you would have known this.

No, you did not say those things.
You said that wasnt the real Jets team.
Does it matter at all to you to be honest in what you post?

So coaching means nothing in the playoffs? Wow you get dumber with every post.
So what you are saying is that the team that had the better regular season wins no more often that the team that had the worse regular season? Is that on the same website that told you turnovers decrease in the playoffs? Maybe you looked those up on Backwards Tuesday?

Saying it wasnt the real Jets team that lost 45-3 is not objective and is not giving credit where it is due, it is making up whatever comment you can think of to avoid accepting that your argument is failing miserably.

I said it was the best game the Patriots played all season. What can I say to actually make you happy? I used to actually respect you and your posts, now after this thread I have lost all respect for your football knowledge

I never said it means nothing, next time actually read my posts and not put words in my mouth. I said experience means more than coaching.

No, I am saying that just because something happens in the regular season there is no guarantee it happens in the playoffs. If this team and specifically the defense actually had playoff experience then I would say that the chances are more likely, but this defense has virtually no playoff experience, so how can you be 100% certain it will continue?

Ok. I need to be sure I understand your position. No sarcasm, no intent to deride, just want to be sure I understand.

1) While the Patriots D plays well in spots, it is not indicative of overall prowess.
2) This is evidenced by a few bad games, most noteably early season and two games to didn't show up to play.
3) They give up yards between the 20's.
4) Manning almost beat them until the scheme forced a game sealing pick.
5) They aren't shiny (few negative plays, highlight hits, ect...)
6) They Jets are shiny.
7) They don't create turnovers, they take advantage of errors.
7a) All errors not caused by a blitzer are unforced.
8) When healthy, they defend the run well.
8a) Health is uncertain.

Am I missing anything?

well, the offense has a TON of experience...so i guess by YOUR criteria, it's MORE LIKELY they will have great success in the playoffs, in which case, your defense boogeyman shrinks to gnat proportions...which coincidentally YOU most closely resemble...an annoying ,green gnat..bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...*thwap!*.....

ooops...looks like somebody killed the Die-nasty....

The Patriots D has not been tested in many wire to wire close games this year that they might face in the playoffs. The Ravens game is the only real true example of that, you could say last weeks game vs. the Packers was but this was against Matt Flynn. If Aaron Rodgers played, and the Pats played like they did they would have gotten smoked. The D has been give double digit leads in virtually every game this season which certainly makes playing defense a lot easier. In the playoffs you cannot expect to get a double digit lead every game.

They have forced a lot of turnovers, but then a good amount of their turnovers have been poor throws and decisions because their team is so far behind and they need to make plays quickly. This isnt saying all of the turnovers are on the opponent and not caused by the Patriots, but the huge number makes the Patriots D look a lot better than it is.

The run defense really is not great even when they are healthy. They are average, 14th in the league. A cause for concern I would say especially in the past few weeks with the injuries to the DL. They really need those guys to get back and be fully healthy for the playoffs.

It is not even worth debating with you. You are full of yourself, get over yourself. You arent that smart.

it got news for ya'...you ain't no Einstein either, pal....
