It's easy, and only takes a few moments. While extremely frustrating to watch, the New England Patriots eventually won the game. Deserve to win has been a subjective matter for you.The Jets, Steelers and Bears wins were the best wins of the season, where the team deserved to win and were clearly the better team on that given day. Can you honestly say the Patriots deserved to win tonight based on their play?

Calling this team's defense above average is overrating it.
It's, perhaps, the worst pass defense in the NFL, and a below average rushing defense. I'm not sure how that translates into being above average.
But, to each his own.
Obviously the Patriots deserved to win, the final score was NE 31, GB 27! However, The Dynasty views it differently.Yes, they deserved to win. They kept it close the whole game and then the D buckled down in the 4th quarter, and the O was able to mount 2 drives and score 10 points. So, despite playing less than their best game, they deserved to win.

You clearly haven't bothered to read the thread in its entirety. You're obviously right. And, he's getting shat for pointing out that the defense was damn near horrid for most of last night, good grief.
Wat :bricks:
Tonight showed the exact opposite of that. The offense really scored 17 points. Another 7 came from a ridiculous ST play. The offense got to punch it in, but that was due to ST. And the defense got 7.
The defense played awful, but starting the 4th quarter, made a huge goal line stand to force GB to settle for a FG instead of a huge TD. In case you didn't notice, that difference was also the difference in the game.
The offense took over and kicked a field goal, but the team was still trailing.
The defense then shut down GB, forcing a 3-and-out.
The offense took over, and finally took the lead with a TD.
The defense then gave up one first down, then force a punt 3 plays later.
Then our offense went 3-and-out, setting up the final drive, where they managed to hold. The Packers ran 6 times for 23 yards. When passing, they went 3 for 4 for 22 yards, sacked twice, and had an INT called back. Hardly a poor performance.
The only reason it was so close to a TD was our offense's 3-and-out gave the ball back to GB at their own 43.
When the defense dominates, you complain they can't win a close game. When they get tested throughout a close game, you complain that they can't win when the offense is off. But they did. How you can make that claim after last night is beyond me. It was ugly, no doubt. But they turned it around in the 4th quarter of a close game and found a way.
You can say they sucked. Just don't say they can't win when the offense struggles RIGHT AFTER WE ALL SAW THEM DO IT.

Of course they deserved to win, because they won.
Explain to me how the PAckers were more deserving of winnng this game, by losing it.

The myriad of crap that comes off your keyboard is just mind boggling. Feel like making some comments on the performances of the Bears, Steelers, Ravens, Eagles and Jets in recent times? My point is that the Patriots are very vulnerable when the offense does not play like it has been playing for the majority of the season. Last nights game proves my point. The defense is just a little above average, and I dont think they can win a playoff game when the offense does not give them a double digit lead. If the Patriots played like they did last night against any playoff team do you really think they would win? I think BB would say no, he pretty much did last night and today in his pressers. The Patriots allowed the game vs. Matt Flynn and the Packers to come down to the last possession, that is fairly concerning.

Coming to stats - one key stat says it all. Time of possession - the pats put up 31 points with less than 20 mins of possession.
GO, Pats !

The were playing the Green Bay Packers who started a quarterback making his first ever start, and then coming into the game did not have a strong running attack because their leader went on IR in week 2. This would have been something if they played an offense that was actually legit, not one starting a QB who had never started an NFL game in his life. If this happened against the Ravens, Colts, Jets etc. I would give them all the credit in the world, but can you really give them credit for this performance?
So the fact that the Patriots defense is playing to a better or comparable level to veteran defenses with equally as many or more flaws despite carrying a better overall record and head to head wins holds no weight? Each of those teams have their flaws as well. This message board is about the Patriots, there is really no need to get into problems with other teams.
This would mean nothing to you no matter what the circumstances so quit acting otherwise.
You claim it would be something if we played a legit offense, then totally discount the Colts game where we dominated Peyton Manning for 3 quarters, then found a way to close out a close game. Then you discount the game against Baltimore when they played 4 solid quarters, shut out the Ravens on several drives in the 4th quarter and OT, and won against a good young QB. Then you discount the 45-3 demolition of the AFC West division leader Jets. Then you discount the 36-7 destruction of the NFC North division leaders with Jay Cutler playing some of his best football since coming north.
Every single time this defense does well, you complain that it isn't enough. When they hold teams to 3 points, you say they can't win close games. And when they win close games, you complain that they played awful and the game shouldn't have been close.
You complain that they barely beat some back-up, yet overlook the victories against Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlesberger, Philip Rivers, and Jay Cutler.
You're Felger. Just admit it.
