Consider the following scenrio: Pats win next two games; clinch home field advantage over Pittsburgh and anyone else throughout playoffs. Jets lose to Steelers and Bear. Miami wins next two. Entering Week 17, Miami and Jets rae tied for 9-6. Jets play Buffalo. NE plays Miami. If Miami wins, they are the last wild card team over the Jets. Should BB rest Brady and a few starters and "let" Miami win? That will mean the Jets miss the playoffs completely.
I know there are lots of "Ifs" here. It would be a delicious irony on many counts. What do you think?
No he wouldn't do it. The most important thing for the Patriots is to keep winning. Being winners is hugely important and bringing any negativity like that into the equation is a bad way to go.
I think Eric Wilbur gets ideas for his columns from this forum.

Why would he let TB's Home Win streak fall by the wayside? Also, resting starters when you have a bye was a recipe for disaster for years with the Colts.
Except for the year when they won the superbowl.
That game is still 2 weeks away so there is no way to predict for certain what the status of us, the Phins or the Jets will be at that time. As things stand right now, the Jets are positioned such that they still have the inside track to the Wild Card, no matter what happens with NE-Miami on January 2. With 3 games to play, they are tied for the #5 seed have a 2 game lead over all other Wild Card challengers.I keep hearing people say that if we "let" the phins win, the Jets are pretty much done? Is this true?
Explain and elaborate please!
