Bolden \Bold"en\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Boldened. ]
To make bold; to encourage; to embolden.
Bolded is actually the one that isn't a word. Have fun looking that one up.

English/Verb
to bolden (third-person singular simple present boldens, present participle boldening, simple past and past participle boldened): 1. To make bold; to embolden.
I will add that, as an old English major and working journalist, I have NEVER seen or heard "boldened" used in reference to written/printed matter. Bolded? Yes, many times. The above appears to infer use of "bolden" as referencing various aspects of being bold or emboldened not commonly associated with heavier printed type face, for which "bolded" applies quite accurately.
