Like we said we will be one and done in the playoffs.... But the team is too inconsitant to beat a san diego, or indy... Now we will be with out Wes Welker for the playoffs, and your talking about a Bill O Brien scheme of chuck it to moss and see what happens..

The question now is whether it will be a wildcard loss and out?

The Ravens and Jets may have a little momentum.

We all had low hopes for this team to begin with. They exceeded my expectations by making the playoffs. After that Saints game, I doubted that they would even make it that far. Guys our team is what it is. They are INCONSISTENT. On the surface, this team does not look like a Championship caliber team. But anything can happen in the playoffs. I lowered my expectations after the Saints game. I will enjoy the playoff game next week and hope that our winning streak at home stands. If that happens, then I'll hope for the best going forward. Our Pats are not a good road team.
Can they win a playoff game on the road? Good question. All we can do is hope.

Why am I not suprised? Of course Bill Belichick can do no wrong with MoLewisrocks. He could probably take a dump on your chest and you would think that it's okay because it's BB, of course, and his dumps don't stink.
That was pretty funny!

MOLEWISROCKS should be banned for the screen name alone. Think about it, Bledsoe almost died on the way to the hospital and this yahoo is glorifying what Mo Lewis did. I've called this person out on this before but still hasn't justified why the choice on the name.

Here we go again: there's some adversity so it's all "homers" and "chicken littles". I hate that crap.

Defense was clearly missing Wilfork & Warren. Pretty freakin embarrassing.

And what is with the pass-happy offense??? I swear if Brady has to throw the ball more than 30 times in the playoffs this team will lose. RUN THE BALL!

Oh well. At least we are in the playoffs where anything can happen.

I still don't understand how some people can so easily ignore our 2nd half struggles this season. This was the 5th 2nd half lead the team blew this season. 5th. That's ridiculous. A good team doesn't get outscored 101 - 41 in the 2nd half of games (on the road). I don't care what excuses people make, this team has choked more often than not.

Take Welker and Moss out and let Brady play a few series to get his reps in with the rest of the receivers and the tight ends.
That's right take Moss and Welker out and you are left with Edelman and a bunch of trash at wide receiver. Nice way to get Brady killed especially considering his rib injuries.

Bottom line, the defense is still a liability.. and they need a full healthy offense to win the whole thing... Im talking to myself , and we are not going to win the super bowl.. This is not a team that is on a roll.. We may win next week, but that is about for me.. The defense is a bigger question , dont tell me no warren or wilfork, was the difference, tackling was a issuie..

Completely agree with this. I am glad we made the playoffs and won the AFC East again. I am hoping for a road win and then, who knows what will happen. The Colts suck in the Divisional round and we almost beat them once.

Getting to the playoffs in a rebuilding year is not a bad thing.

Why?? If Welker wasn't going to play there was no point in Brady or Moss or the starting OL playing. Unfortunately you only have 45 actives on gamedays and Bill chose to rest the guy who wouldn't have played unless the season was on the line or guys who needed the rest the most based on things he knows that we can't begin to. He also chose to play the units that still needed work to gel and they can't do that when you're playing with second and third stringers out of the gate just like in preseason. Had Welker not gone down I'm not sure Bill would have pulled the first string offense until he felt comfortable they were executing in effectively. That's pretty much been his MO for as long as he's been here. Today that might have been first quarter, might have been a half. Obviously Brady told him he needed time with Edleman and visa versa at halftime when he figured out Wes is done.

This team has had issues with execution and consistency all season. There is no way they could let up on the last week of the season and hope to go far in the playoffs because they remained a work in progress. Bill's made some lousy decisions this season, playing his starters to begin this game was not one of them. They simply weren't good enough to ease off a week before the win or go home season commences.

Welker and Brady haven't had any consistency issues of late, so that pretty much destroys your argument.

This was really a meaningless game for the Patriots.
Baloney! If it was a meaningless game, Tom Brady would not have played whatsoever in the second half especially after the Wes Welker season ending injury.

Welker had at least 3 drops in the Buffalo game. Does that count?

That's right take Moss and Welker out and you are left with Edelman and a bunch of trash at wide receiver. Nice way to get Brady killed especially considering his rib injuries.

This defense might have had a sliver of merit if it weren't for the fact that the Patriots were rotating the O-line all game and kept Brady in for the 4th quarter, despite having a lead and Brady reportedly having those rib injuries.

The homers here completely ignore context even while complaining that others aren't paying attention to everything going on. It was a "meaningless" game, yet the players who've been injured and taking beatings all season belonged in there and it's not right to criticize their playing.

The homers completely miss the obvious logic failure there.

it wasn't a "meaningless" game. after a season that can politely be described as "inconsistent," it was a chance to put together at least another two quarters of solid play on both sides of the ball after the Jags game and the second half against the bills. it was also a chance to go up against a decent team with a winning record and show that we could win said kind of game on the road, which we hadn't done yet this season and which we will now presumably have to figure out how to do during the playoffs.

i have no problem with the decision to play Brady, Welker et al. Welker got hurt towards the beginning of the game on a non-contact play that could have occurred in practice without pads; and, even if he'd been clocked to Saturn at the end of the first half, it still wouldn't be any different, as I see it.

The Patriots took an identifiable and, IMO, reasonable risk and it didn't work out. They were playing, at least at the beginning, to win the game. Stuff happens.

I'd say instead of logic failures, we have more capacity for complexity than the simpleton gloom&doomers.

Like this: you play your starters to stay sharp (kinda like the preseason) and then you PULL them (as BB did in the 2nd quarter).

After losing Welker, they went in at halftime and realized that Brady and Edelman better get on the same page quick.

The rest means absolutely nada.

It's a pity you don't have a wide enough viewpoint to recognize that there is no contradiction there.

Of course, my viewpoint is taking everything in and yours isn't, making the "wide enough" assertion laughable. I defended Brady's 3rd quarter return in the game thread and in the other threads. As for the "sharp" argument, that might have validity if only there were any signs that the Brady to Welker connection needed more reps to keep sharp.

You are correct. It was a very meaningful game. Our Super Bowl chances were dealt a severe blow when the team played its top offensive players. That is how the gametruned out to be meaningful.

Belichick considered a meaningful game. He risked injuries to Brady, Moss and Welker. And even when Welker, was injured, he continued to risk the health of Brady and Moss.

Baloney! If it was a meaningless game, Tom Brady would not have played whatsoever in the second half especially after the Wes Welker season ending injury.

You see Indy wont have a ****s worth of momentum come two weeks from now and they will be hoping to flick a switch and pick up where they left off back in December but at least they will be healthy. We just blew yet another fourth quarter lead and we lost Wes Welker. If you would kindly remove BB's package from your mouth and back away from his crotch youd see that we have neither momentum or health going into a playoff game next week, thank God its at home because we havent beet a team with a winning record on the road. Your idiotic homerism never gets old, you join after a couple of superbowl wins and yet im the frontruner.

enough, punk...I've been a Patriots fan since the 60's and I've seen a ton of frontrunning crybabies like you come and go through leaner times than today.Love the fact that one injury means Indy is healthy and the Patriots aren't...,nice two year old " goo gee gaa gaa me want my ba-ba" logic....how the hell you propose to prove your assertion that Indy won't have any momentum is beyond comprehension. Are you saying they will lose their opening playoff game? If they win, your idiotic "momentum" assertion will be rendered moot.

BTW,why are you a Patriot fan anyway...you are 100% negative about everything they do, you hate any postivity from any fans and you are constantly on the attack ,ripping and tearing away about every little wart and imperfection you can feverishly ferret out.Perhaps you should just wait for this year's Super Bowl winner and then root for them and change every year...should make your pathetic self esteem issues better.

ur idiotic "momentum" assertion will be rendered moot.

Ok some clarity. The result was meaningless.

Brady got some realtime reps with Edelman, seemed like a very sensible move to me and very Belichickesque.

Seriously? Edelman just got an unexpected promotion to the #2 spot on the Patriots' WR depth chart, and he and Brady are clearly not on the same page. If they don't get used to each other, the Patriots will not get very far in the playoffs.
