Totally pessimistic post.

1. If you noticed, Manning and Wayne and ALL the Colts played longer than Welker.

2. That wasn't our first team defense!??! Please. Brace, Wilhite, Alexander weer out there in the fourth quarter.

Seriously, you believe that was the first team?
Wake up. This is the same team that has choked it up in every road game this year. It doesn't matter whether the starters were in our not. It's a problem the entire TEAM has had all year, on offense and defense. That the "second team" defense--which includes starters like Jarvis Green, Banta-Cain, Guyton and Wilhite--gave up multiple touchdowns in the 4th quarter yet again is symptomatic of the team has been doing all season long.

Brady didn't look so hot today, either. Only the biggest homer could be pleased with what happened in this game.

It's preposterous and idiotic to argue Welker shouldn't have started...unless you want to argue Brady ,Moss,Morris,Taylor,Watson, the O line and all the starting LB's shouldn't have started either

well then, Indy must have incredible momentum having been blasted to smithereens the last two games...why don't you find another team to "root" for with your idiotic pessimism...you make me sick to be even associated with the frontrunning back biting "fan" you are

You see Indy wont have a ****s worth of momentum come two weeks from now and they will be hoping to flick a switch and pick up where they left off back in December but at least they will be healthy. We just blew yet another fourth quarter lead and we lost Wes Welker. If you would kindly remove BB's package from your mouth and back away from his crotch youd see that we have neither momentum or health going into a playoff game next week, thank God its at home because we havent beet a team with a winning record on the road. Your idiotic homerism never gets old, you join after a couple of superbowl wins and yet im the frontruner.

Edit: I was a little to harsh...

So was it meaningless when we were up two scores? Professional athletes are supposed to play all games to win.

Yes of course it was.

Did you miss the entire week on this board?

If it wasn't meaningless, Wilfork, Warren, Bodden would have played. Hoyer would be on the bench all game. Brady would not be running an empty backfield set WITH the lead so that he could run plays with Edelman!

ARe you serious? We ran empty backfield sets all year long with the lead in the 4th quarter.

That's not accurate at all. It's understood that some starters have to play. However, Welker's taken a beating this year, has missed games, and has a backup who could use the work. Brady is the starting QB, and is banged up.

The right decisions were to sit Welker and to have Brady only play a series or two. Once Welker went down, playing Brady in the 3rd quarter made sense, but he should then have been pulled with the lead in the 4th.

No, it's not the same team.

Next week we'll have all players back, and guys like Alexander and Brace won't see the field. Some of these guys will be inactive.

everyone is pissed off on the D but they scored the same amount of pts the offense did. We scored 7 2nd half pts like all season which is why we lost. out D was out there too much and we didnt run the ball and the o line was the worst today after welker went down because brady lost his hot read.

Your first post was pretty funny near the end.

4th quarter meltdown, again. Willhite and Meriweather played like rookies.

Defense callplay not good in final quarter. Few blitzes..

This bend-dont-break concept is poop.

Many think 1-playoff and done. I think that may be the case, as they won 1 game. on-the-road this regular-season.

Once in awhile, not all the time. There wasn't a back behind Brady the whole time.

Some players have taken more of a beating than others. I personally would have liked to see at least Brady/Moss/Welker/Wilfork/Warren/Neal sitting today and preferably more.

My god you must be smoking something. Where did you get this idea that they were spreading the team out just get Brady time with Edelman? They can do that in practice.

If the game was meaningless, Brady shouldn't have played more than the first half.

I don't have a problem with the decision to give the starters time. I have a problem with the results we got from this game. This team is abysmal in the second half, and you can tell they know it and are thinking about it instead of just playing. It's pathetic.

Hes taken more shots than Jenna Haze yet he played. Your absolutely right, we benched guys who could have played but were a little banged up so why not Wes.

The entire game was a disappointment IMO

The only bright spots were Julian Edleman looks like a fantastic replacement for Welker and should Brady be hurt at some point Hoyer looks like a great back up.

I have to say this defense to me comes off as a bunch of individually talented players with 0 football intelligence. They always seem to be in the wrong position.

Take the 3rd and 15 for example. I had absolutely no faith that we would stop them from picking it up and they are 26th in the league in 3rd down conversions. What happens? 17 yard reception for a first.....

The O-line looked terrible, we barely established a run and Brady didn't do much of anything (although I'm inclined to attribute more of that to the lack of pass protection and our poor excuse for a receiving corps not getting open)

Boy, it should be a fun week on this site!

Its hindsight to play welker.. he was not hit, he could have gotten hurt on the practice field, its the work of the football gods.. Its not about if we should have sat him.. the brady descions were perplexing though... Wes Welker will be more than missed, he will be the signal of the end of the pats this year.. We better learn how to run the ball and pass protect better...

This is football. Football players play football. Reps are how teams improve. This team had taken all season to begin to round into form. Today Edleman and Brady needed all the reps BB dared to give them because the next time they take the field it's win or go home. Reps with Hoyer do nothing for Edleman. You also can't rest everyone and the players who don't often suffer the consequences because you are resting starters...

Why am I not suprised? Of course Bill Belichick can do no wrong with MoLewisrocks. He could probably take a dump on your chest and you would think that it's okay because it's BB, of course, and his dumps don't stink.

And he was lost without being hit. Could have happened in practice next week...

This is the same... incredibly lame... logic used by Polian ballwashers last week. I do believe it's been a good while since a superstar player (and one of the biggest pieces to our offense) badly blew their knee out in practice. In fact, I can't remember the last time. Using the "it could have happened" excuse as your defense is, once again, lame.

That was not the first unit defense...

There were a couple of missing pieces but the core of the first unit defense did play for the vast majority of the game.

If you watched at all you should be able to figure out why Brady had to return to the game...

Sure. Because BB's decision to play our Big Three backfired horribly in a "meaningless game" and Welker got carted off the field leaving Brady with a main target of a rookie quarterback turned wide receiver with injury issues. Since you used the "it could have happened" defense, I will pose you with a question related to that form of logic: What would you be saying right now if Brady got his knee blown out as well because BB had to leave him in to work with Edelman after Welker went out? Would it still be peaches and cream with you? I just ask because you seem to be a fan of the Could-Of's.

The only time that I can remember that the Patriots went to the Super Bowl without a bye week is in 1985. Fact of the matter is that reps can come in practice. The team would have done just fine with a week off. Just ask the 2001, 2003, and 2004 teams. You could have also asked the 2007 team if not for a freak helmet catch.

Have you ever been critical of Belichick over anything? If you have, I have yet to see it.
