Here is a YouTube link of Arrington's college highlight reel. Arrington was one of Hofstra's best defensive players just a couple years back. Obviously coming out of Hofstra, Arrington never really faced the cream of the crop of D1, or even the midlevel schools, but he looks like he's got a bit of talent to work with - and seems to be an extraordinarily hard hitter for his size. Also seems to have a bit of giddy-up, which is definitely a plus.
I hope he never sniffs Gillette on a Sunday Afternoon - if he does, we've got serious injury problems - but I could see him being a contributor on Special Teams at some point in the future. Now take everything I just said with a grain of salt, because I'm just going by things I've seen of him on YouTube...
From that thread:
Another bone-smasher on ST's/D? Love the idea.
With the two best passing offenses in the league on the horizon, having another hitter in the nickel and dime sure won't hurt.
Apparently he's quick, too. Could be a real good STer.
I think it's interesting that the move may have been somewhat reactionary. Reiss is saying that other teams were showing interest in him and the Pats didn't want to lose him.
Obviously this team is gearing up to stop the pass, special teams during the stretch and knowing Adams and Richard are on the P-Squad and Brace is in arms reach (hopefully just waiting for a chance to shine) this defense is looking great.
Shows what BB thinks of him. Another unknown, small school, diamond in the rough, stashed on the practice squad ?
He just afraid the Colts were gonna get him and his playbook
That actually makes sense. The Colts are really hurting for d-backs.

True, luckily they're all stocked up on D-Bags.

I much prefer this theory to the alternate interpretation, that Wheatley is a washout.
Next Wednesday, Wilhite will return to practice, Arrington will be
waived and re-signed to the practice squad, and Simmons re-signed.
What is your rationale for this?
It also means that Brace is a near certain active considering Green's status and the fact that Miami seems to run a bit. I know some were speculating that one of the PS DLs was going to get the call.
Seems to be a positive indicator on ol' Bracey, eh Patchick?
