Does anyone think that we were out-coached yesterday? There are plenty of "journalistic masterpieces" out there today saying that we were out-coached by McD yesterday. We held them to 17 points in regulation as opposed to the 26 points they have averaged this year. We also went into OT and IMO the one who wins that is based upon the one who wins the coin toss.

What do you all think?

I don't know about that. There was a time when I was screaming for BB to call a time out so the booth could review something, but besides that, I didn't have a problem with the coaching. I think the 12 men on the field stuff is on the coordinators more than BB.

Those who say were outcoached will need to explain how..outplayed yes....that is definite..but outcoached?? What were those brilliant moves made that made the difference in the game. Given how Watson and Light were out and Welker was banged up...Galloway MIA...that severely limited the offense..at least to some degree...so..if that is being outcoached...

I think the Ppats had a ten point lead, plus possession of the ball to start the second half. And they pissed it away, primarily because the defense gave up two long drives of over 90 yards with no adjustment whatsoever to McOrton's dink and dunk offense. And the offense never adjusted to McDaniels' excellent halftime adjustments on defense.

Coaching fail, in my opinion.

Wasn't that the Broncos?

i dont think you were out coached. out played maybe, but not out coached.

We need an offensive coordinator.

The Pats were outcoached, but they were also out executed. The two go hand and hand.

We were out played. If our QB makes throws that the likes of, oh I don't know, Kyle Orton, makes, we win the game.

If Gostkowski makes that kick, we win 20-17 and BB is a genius, right. It's more about execution, not coaching or play-calling.

The term "out coached" has become sort of a media catch-all phrase for when an underdog rises to the occasion and wins. The Patriots were "out-a-lot-of-thingsed" yesterday.

I feel that the coaching staff isn't ready to open the rest of the defensive playbook.

Back in 03-04 when we had a dominant defense, almost everyone on the D had a few years of experience in the system. Right now, 6-7 of our starters have only had 2 years or less. If the coaches aren't comfortable using the old bread & butter yet they have their reasons.

This defense has shown it DOES have the ability to be aggressive, and make the important stop when its needed. The leash will come off when BB knows they are ready mentally. Both of our losses were easily winnable games.

i also think that brady still has some rust from not playing last season. those two throws (moss and welker) were not brady type throws.

Yes, I think that we were out-coached. To me, it is the responsibility of the OC and other offensive coaches to make game plans and call plays, keeping in mind the strengths, weaknessess, and effects of injuries to each of the players on the offense.

If Brady cannot efficiently make certain plays, THEN THOSE PLAYS SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONS, at least until Brady is more able to make such plays. My gut feel is that Brady is much more in charge of the offense than he should be.

Charlie understood these principles. Josh understood them.

Vince should have called tails. Don't they gameplan anymore?

they missed an equally makeable kick on the first drive of the game. So it swings both ways.

He should have at least called it in the air. Bad coaching.

When Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis were with the Patriots, they
were among the lowest paid coordinators in the NFL. The Patriots have now lost their replacements, McDaniels and Eric Mangini.
Dean Pees and Bill O'Brien are probably the best coaches available
for short money. With the exception of veteran special teams coach,
Scott O'Brien, the position coaches the Patriots have hired recently
have been coaching assistants. Maybe, the Patriots are getting
just what they deserve coaching wise.
