5 teams in 2009 on the rise & 5 teams in decline

Well we took two guys. We can put our best cover corner in Will Allen on Welker and that should work; Welker can't beat premiere corners, we all know that. Put the big rookies on Moss, we'll find out who it is by September, Sean Smith or Vontae Davis.

Okay, then what are you gonna do about Joey Galloway?

Why does every one insist that the Dolphins are going to regress because the Wildcat? First of all, the formation has just seen the surface, there are plenty more wrinkles to come.

Also, what about the base offense? The Dolphins did have a quarterback with a +12 TD/INT ratio and 3,500+ passing yards. It also features one of the most talented backfields in football with Ronnie Brown at full strength, Ricky Williams playing consecutive seasons for the first time since 2003 and a beefed up offensive line.

And no way Moss abuses us like he did last year; we took care of our cornerback problem via the draft.

Ahhhh.... blind optimism. It's always great to watch as it gets crushed.

The inactive list should take care of him. If not, Eric Green? Shouldn't be much of a problem.

Let's put the Pats secondary and defense on trial for a bit. We did roll up 66 points on you guys in two games last year. Can you keep Ronnie out of the end zone?

Is it really blind when you're defending division champs?

You guys will win a SB title when Dan Marino finally gets a defense to back up his offense... wait

OOPS Sorry,I just came out of an 90s time capsule

(OH,BTW: In case you didn't know this,Marino himself picked the Patriots to win this years AFC East, now if the most famous Dolphins legend of all time does not think you will win the division what does that tell you?)

He picks the Patriots every year. Dan was the best quarterback of all time, but I wouldn't consider him a good analyst (the two are exclusive ya' know; ask Deion Sanders.) He takes chalk every year. He's probably predicting a New England, Pittsburgh AFC title game and a NY Giants, Philadelphia NFC title game.

I do believe on the pregame show before week 3, he said the Patriots would destroy the Dolphins. How did that work out for Dan and you guys?

Who the **** cares. You won a freaking game, we beat you guys in YOUR house too. ****, we're 3-1 against you the last two years, how does THAT feel?

You guys didn't win the division by a margin, you guys won it on an AFC tie breaker. We played a first place schedule, you played a last place schedule. I mean, this is a joke. It'd be the like the 90's Pats JUST winning the division if Marino was out than me promising a division title. Our QB was out, yet you still almsot lost the division. What's that tell you?

Your counting on rookies to somehow handle Moss. Well I'm counting on veterans to eat your defense alive. We'll see how that works.

And all this "wildcat" talk. It's such an amazing, deceptive game plan that you guys got your offense's face beat in at HOME in the playoffs. I wouldn't be counting on that to beat the Patriots for a division title again.

We went 0-2 in our uncommon games so that's irrelevant. And we won the division, doesn't matter how. We did better in the common games so we proved we were the better team.

Heh, if you say so. 2009 will be a fun year to be a fan!

Haha, funny.

Winning the division on a tie breaker, when the other team doesn't have the best player in the league, doesn't equal the better team.

How can Marino be the best QB of all-time if there are two active QBs who are clearly better than him, just for starters?

And how can he be the best if he's never one the big one?

No, he wasn't. Frankly, he's not in the top 10. I'd rank him in the next group of 10, though.

Top 10, in no particular order

Baugh
Graham
Brady
Unitas
Manning
Staubach
Montana
Starr
Elway
Young

I could see some arguments for players like Favre, Fouts and Bradshaw before Marino, and even to unseat Young (who I'd have at 10), but Marino would be somewhere in the 11-20 range.

OKay so Trent Dilfer and Mark Rypien were better quarterbacks, obviously. And if they only way to judge a quarterback is on championships, then everyone after those that won a SB is tied. Therefore, Dan Marino is equal to Kevin O'Connell.

Give Dan Marino the Patriots of the 2000's in his prime and he has AT LEAST 5 rings by now. At least.

When discussing the reatest QB's of all time, rings play a factor.

Just because a qb wins a ring doesn't mean he is automatically in the discussion.

Besides, having a 77.1 QB rating in the playoffs doesn't really help.

Not really, choking doesn't win Super Bowls.
