King: On Fins game and Brady

This game on Sunday is HUGE. It has big time playoff ramifications. We had BETTER WIN. We need this game, IMO.

...and I am so sick and tired of reading crap like that about Brady. When did he become so USELESS around here?

as huge it is for the pats, its bigger for the fins and win and a jets loss puts them in tie for first place with KC and SF and STL coming up

I know. That's what worries me. Who would have thought when the season started that this game would be so important.

we can also blame SD . if they had taken care of business and beaten the fins, we wouldnt be in this situation

Re: King : On fins game and brady

I question if the Patriots are a playoff team even if they do win this game. Playoff teams are supposed to beat a lesser opponent at home, and the Patriots could not do that against Miami in September. Playoff teams are supposed to pull out close games in the 4th quarter and overtime, and the Patriots were not able to do that against Indy or the Jets.

The 2004 Patriots went down to Miami, riding high at 12-1 or something along those lines. They played an inferior Miami team, leading most of the night, and blew it late in the fourth quarter. By your definition, that team was not a playoff team. That team only went on to win the Super Bowl.

in response to trading brady....i mean, come on. not going to happen, regardless of whether it costs more to trade him or not.

thats ridiculous. how can you say its a bigger game for the other team. whoever loses is essentially out of playoff contention becauase theyd have to finish 5-0 to make the playoffs because 10-6 will not be good enough due to poor conference record

I dont know. Currently, we have the tiebreaker over you for the head-to-head. I think its more important for you so you can even things up tiebreaker wise...

You're right. Playoff teams shouldn't lose to their biggest divisional rival at home by 11 coming off a bye in November. They shouldn't follow that up the next week by barely squeaking by a joke franchise like the Lions. And they most CERTAINLY don't then lose to at home to a non-playoff team 41-17 the very next week at the end of November.

You'd pretty much say that team is done for the year ....

What is lost in all of this, is after the NE game, 4 of 5 Fish games are on the road. Sure, they aren't cream of the crop opponents, but a road game in the NFL is not an easy task. Seahawks and Raiders aren't exactly the 85 Bears, but the Fish could barely manage to beat them AT HOME!

Too much man love going on for the Fish & the Tuna.

Lombardi makes a good point in this morning's Diner News: It doesn't matter who you are playing on your schedule, it matters HOW you are playing. If you are playing bad you can lose to even the worst team in the league.

I think this is going to be Miami's big Not Ready for Primetime moment.

"See: Giants, New York (2007)"

And what does what happened last year have to do with this years team, which is the team he is referring to..............get a clue.

Yeah....after their huge win over us last time...they are pumped to go into this game and attempt to do a repeat....

Its going to be their confidence that will kill them.....

He is referring (as I was in my post above) to the fact that this time last year you probably could have gotten 20-1 odds on the Giants winning the Super Bowl. They had just gotten blown out by the Vikings 41-17 and were written off for dead.

The point is, as long as your record is respectable (which 6-4 is) you can still get hot at the right time and ride momentum into the playoffs.

Of course, that has to start this week and the margin of error has pretty much shrunk to one loss max, but the Pats still control their destiny which is a good thing in Week 11.

No, I read it. The fact that he even included it is worthy enough of attack, just as the OP of the thread you refer to was ridiculed. Acknowledging a question so absurd, even if he ultimately comes to the right conclusion, is basis for attack.

We haven't had media attention in years. I'm just don't know how you guys keep talking the "lesser team" stuff when you got your butts kicked. Everyone started 0-0.

Good luck and good game with no injuries.
