Man, I'm still soaking this all in. I haven't felt like this during FA since Randy Moss. I always wanted Revis in a Patriots uniform... bad!
Never been so happy about Revis being in the AFC East
I know the Jets missed him. Now they're reunited... twice a year
Just got up - AHHHHH!! - I wasn't dreaming - Revis is in the house!!
For one yr the pats got the better plyer in revis vs talib. Of course he called belichick a jerk and randy moss a bum but nothing works like a 12 mill $ paycheck.
With cornerbacks striking huge deals across the league, it was odd to see the best one of the bunch quickly agree to a one-year deal in a little more than three hours after hitting the market. Even odder, Revis reportedly wouldn't restructure his deal to facilitate a trade and then had no issue taking lesser money from the Patriots after being released. That money is still substantial, but it was a little out of character for a player who has fought for every dollar he's received in the NFL.
It's hard not to be reminded of Talib's comments from earlier this year. "Revis is in his own category, man," he said in September. "He's the truth. All the corners in the league, we know it. Some guys might say something, (Seattle's) Richard Sherman might say something, but the only reason he's saying something is because we know what Revis is. He's at his own level."

Problem? This is a good problem. It's not an absolute guarantee that he's still worth it. They landed a guy who now has to prove it. This is a $12m risk--which is good for the Patriots, not bad.
Love having the player (assuming he is up to his standards). Though, it might have been nice to see a deal that was essentially the 12 year deal plus options to extend him for 2-3 more years.
not sure why he was taking a 1 year deal, but won't complain in 2014.
On another positive note Revis does not count as a qualifying UFA so he would not eliminate the possibility of a compensatory pick for Talib.
Patriots actually signed a big name free agent?!?!?!?!?!?!
We must be in the Twilight Zone or something
The real question is why he didn't make sure there was a no Franchise tag clause in the deal. Pats can always tag him if they can't make a deal.
I think at this point he maybe fine going year to year making $12m+ and it all being fully guaranteed.
