We. Have. Revis.

Well you see, although Revis' previous contract was for 16m per year - there was ZERO guaranteed money!! I'm thinking that the 1 year deal he got from the Pats must have significant guarantees included. But that's just my guess.
Uh, well I'd say the $12 million is all-but-officially guaranteed.

Bill Belichick's the man, I can't believe some people were bashing him

Reading Jets Insider right now is like watching porn. I haven't seen a group of fans that pissed since... well... Jets fans.

Man do I hope Revis has realised winning is more important than money... especially when you have been and will continue to be paid handsomely.

I'm intrigued to see what other deals the Patriots put in place to further strengthen the team. Happy days.

Ray Ray19..."he's just a little biatch!!!"...

that "unlimited ceiling!!!!!" just fell on Pinhead Pinhead's little pea sized cranium

I'd say this is a cold beer moment..... :eat3:

What I'd really love is to wake up to news of a 3 year deal.... :thumb:

They all are probably going to get together and start a huge bonfire and throw their Revis jersey's in.

For one yr the pats got the better plyer in revis vs talib. Of course he called belichick a jerk and randy moss a bum but nothing works like a 12 mill $ paycheck.:)

Think about this. Assuming Revis is healthy, just about every No. 1 receiver the Pats face next year is neutralized in man coverage.

Talib < Law < Revis

It does what you mention; I think it also removes the deep ball against the pats completely as it allows McCourty to only have to patrol the other half-2/3rds of the field.

If we can get Vince restructured; and somehow acquire another impact DL, I think the chances of this defense becoming great again is a real possibility -- cause I expect one of Logan Ryan or Dennard; hopefully both; to become good CBs; and I expect small improvements in Jones/Hightower/Collins

Another thought, FWIW:

- Revis was cut by Tampa Bay, who won't get any compensation for the Pats signing him, and he won't factor into our formulae for FAs lost vs. signed.

- Losing Talib will almost certainly result in us getting a 2015 3rd round comp pick.

I wonder what Rex Ryan is doing right now?

They need to be careful. How flammable are tears and puke?

Elway got Talib yesterday, but lost Demaryius Thomas today.

Good thinking, didn't even realize this.

Best day ever

From Albert Breer on Twitter:

Important note: Darrelle Revis' 1-year, $12 million deal w/the Patriots doesn't contain anything preventing NE from franchising him in '15.

Additionally, I'm told the Patriots ultimately, after a feeling-out period, have designs on locking up Revis long-term.

The bottom line is that we control Revis for the next 2-3 years, and will probably work out a long term deal.

I just hope Revis plays in the next AFCC game.

And while I never wish injuries on players who I don't hate as people, after Talib's questionable post-season no-shows, I sort of am hoping that he doesn't play.

And by the way -- Revis wants to be paid huge salaries, but is willing to forgo multi-year guarantees to get them. Hats off to him for that. He has all the money he needs for a nice lifestyle; taking the risky approach for money beyond that is appropriate.

He OWNED Moss - he caught that one TD when Revis had only one hammy.

This is possibly my favourite tweet regarding Revis:

@AmosPosner: The Jets have brilliantly strategized for this by having no receivers for Darrelle Revis to shut down.
